Egyptians are furious over reports about the designation of
the US former ambassador to Syria Robert S. Ford as the next American envoy as
he allegedly ran “death squads” in Iraq.
Global Research, a Canadian website has claimed that Ford ran “death squads” in
Iraq when he was political counsellor at the embassy there from 2004-2006. The
story has gone on Twitter and been reported by Egyptian media, irritating
Egyptian authorities and people about the move to appoint Ford to the job.
Hashtags such as #NoToRobertFord in English and in Arabic, “We refuse the
American ambassador to Egypt,” appeared on the microblogging site after media
reports said Ford has been considered by the White House as the next US envoy
in Egypt.
“The new sponsor of terrorism in Egypt,” tweeted one user, referring to the US
career diplomat. Another warned, “Watch out Ford, if you come to Cairo... You
won't be an ambassador... You will b a target”.
Ford was appointed US Ambassador to Syria in late January 2011, more than a
month before the crisis started in the Arab country.
Wayne Madsen, an American investigative journalist saidin September
2011 that Ford “has been responsible for recruiting Arab "death
squads" from al-Qaeda-affiliated units in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, and
Chechnya to fight against Syrian military and police forces in embattled
Syria.”
With growing anti-American sentiments in Egypt, the US would face huge
obstacles in rebuilding its lost reputation, an analyst says.
“It is a very difficult task,” Mohamed Elmenshawy, director at the Middle East
Institute in Washington, told FoxNews.com. “Given the level of anti-American
sentiment from all Egyptian political players, Ford has serious challenges
ahead of him. It will take serious initiatives by the U.S. to recover its
reputation in Egypt in order to make the mission of the new ambassador easier.
Sami Abuskhade:
the Israeli discourse denies the very existence of the Naqba, but after decades
of denial Palestinians are finally able to bring their history to light.
The United States government and its subject peoples think
of the US as “the world’s only superpower.” But how is a country a superpower
when its entire government and a majority of the subjects, especially those
members of evangelical churches, grovel at the feet of the Israeli Prime
Minister? How is a country a superpower when it lacks the power to determine
its own foreign policy in the Middle East? Such a country is not a superpower.
It is a puppet state.
In the past few days we have witnessed, yet again, the
“American superpower” groveling at Netanyahu’s feet. When Netanyahu decided to
again murder the Palestinian women and children of Gaza, to further destroy
what remains of the social infrastructure of the Gaza Ghetto, and to declare
Israeli war crimes and Israeli crimes against humanity to be merely the
exercise of “self-defense,” the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives,
the White House, and the U.S. media all promptly declared their support for
Netanyahu’s crimes.
On November 16 the Congress of the “superpower,” both House
and Senate, passed overwhelmingly the resolutions written for them by AIPAC,
the Israel Lobby known as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the
only foreign agent that is not required to register as a foreign agent. The
Global News Service of the Jewish People reported their power over Washington
with pride. Both Democrats and Republicans shared the dishonor of serving
Israel and evil instead of America and justice for the Palestinians.
The White House quickly obeyed the summons from the Israel
Lobby. President Obama announced that he is “fully supportive” of Israel’s
assault on Gaza. Ben Rhodes, White House deputy national security adviser, told
the media on November 17 that the White House “wants the same thing as the
Israelis want.” This is an overstatement as many Israelis oppose the crimes of
the Israeli government, which is not the government of Israel but the
government of the “settlers,” that is, the crazed land-hungry immigrants who
are illegally, with Netanyahu’s support, stealing the lands of the
Palestinians.
Netanyahu’s Israel is the equivalent of the Lincoln
Republicans 150 years ago. Then there was no international law to protect
Southern states, who left the voluntary union, a right under the Constitution,
in order to avoid being exploited by Northern business interests. Subsequently,
the Union army, after devastating the South, turned on the American Indians,
and there was no international law to protect American Indians from being
murdered and dispossessed by Washington’s armies.
Washington claimed that its invasion forces were threatened
by the Indian’s bows and arrows. Today there is international law to protect
the Palestinian residents of the West Bank and Gaza. However, every time that
the world tries to hold the Israeli government accountable for its crimes,
Israel’s Washington puppet vetoes the UN decision.
Demonizing a victim is a way of hiding state crimes. The
American print and TV media is useless as a check on state crimes. The only
crimes reported by the media are assigned to “terrorists,” that is, those who
resist U.S. hegemony, and to Americans, such as Bradley Manning and Sibel
Edmonds, who liberate truth from official secrecy. Julian Assange of WikiLeaks
remains in danger despite the asylum granted to him by the President of
Ecuador, as Washington has little regard for international law.
In the U.S. the exercise of the First Amendment is coming to
be regarded as a crime against the state. The purpose of the media is no longer
to find the truth, but to protect official lies. Speaking the truth has
essentially disappeared as it is too costly to journalist who dare to do so. To
keep one’s job, one serves Washington and the private interest groups that
Washington serves.
In his November 19 defense of Israel’s latest war crimes,
President Obama said: “no country on earth would tolerate missiles raining down
from outside its borders.” But, of course, numerous countries do tolerate
missiles raining down from the U.S. The war criminal Obama is raining down missiles
in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen, and has rained missiles on Libya, Somalia,
Iraq and Syria as well.
The German assault on the Warsaw Ghetto is one of the horror
stories of Jewish history. Such an event is happening again, only this time
Jews are perpetrators instead of victims. No hand has been raised to stay
Israel from the goal of the operation declared by Israeli Interior Minister Eli
Yishai to be “to send Gaza back to the Middle Ages.”
Qatar’s King Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani has
reportedly located the whereabouts of senior Hamas members during his recent
visit to the Gaza Strip, and later provided Israel with the information to
assassinate them.
According to a report published by the Fars news agency, the emir of Qatar
distributed a number of watches and ballpoint pens among Hamas leaders, which
could transmit low-frequency signals to Israeli satellites.
The Israeli military officials would then use the received signals to spot the
high-ranking Hamas fighters, and launch assassination strikes on them.
Sheikh Hamad arrived in Gaza on October 23 to become the first head of state to
visit the besieged enclave since the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas,
took power in the territory five years ago.
Qatar’s emir has met Israeli leaders in the past, and is working hard to boost
the diplomatic clout of his small Persian Gulf country.
Gaza has been blockaded by the Israeli regime since 2007, a situation that has
caused a decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of
unemployment, and unrelenting poverty.
The Israeli military frequently carries out airstrikes and other attacks on
Gaza Strip, saying the actions are being conducted for defensive purposes.
However, disproportionate force is always used, in violation of international
law, and civilians are often killed or injured.
The new wave of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has claimed more than 41
lives since November 14. Ahmed al-Ja'abari, the popular and influential head of
the Hamas military wing, the Ezzedeen al-Qassam Brigades, was assassinated in
an Israeli attack on his car on Wednesday.
On Friday, Ahmed Abu Jalal, a field commander of the Ezzedeen al-Qassam
Brigades, was also killed in an Israeli airstrike on the central Gaza district
of Maghazi.
In 1968 around five hundred unarmed civilians were massacred
by American soldiers at My Lai (Son My), Vietnam. Most of the victims were
women, children, infants, and the elderly.
Many of the women were raped, or gang-raped and their bodies mutilated. Only
one soldier was found guilty and he then served a mere three and a half years
under house arrest (i.e., he was sentenced to three and a half years of
lounging on a sofa, drinking Coca Cola, eating pizzas and watching television).
In 1988, Iran Air Flight 655 was shot down by a missile from the American ship
USS Vincennes. All two hundred and ninety on board including sixty six children
and sixteen crew members were killed. The United States has never admitted
responsibility, nor apologized.
In 2007, leaked videos revealed that American helicopters were playing
lets-shoot-’em video games whose object is to machine gun as many people as
possible in the shortest possible time. Posted on YouTube, the thirty nine
minute cockpit video shows three incidents, in which people were targeted as
they walked along Baghdad streets, sat in a van or went into a building,
unaware that Apache gunships were aiming to destroy them.
Because the dead included two Iraqi journalists working for Reuters TV, the
news agency attempted to request the video footage under the Freedom of
Information Act. It did not succeed. The footage was eventually acquired from
an undisclosed source in 2009 by the website Wikileaks which released the
footage in 2010, under the name ‘collateral murder’.
Moreover, as ‘collateral’ is being mentioned, it should be remembered that the
Americans snigger and titter when reference is made to ‘collateral damage’. By
‘collateral damage’ they mean the hundreds of civilians now being killed, in
various countries, by the drones which blast them apart with never a word of
apology let alone compensation for the killing of innocents. These are war
crimes of the worst sort. Furthermore, American drone policy is being extended
to new countries almost every day.
And now a video, if confirmed as genuine, shows Syrian insurgents beating
government soldiers before spraying them with bullets. However, this latest
massacre is only the latest in a string of summary executions throughout Syria
and the reason is that the insurgents, supported by the Americans, the Saudis,
the Qataris and the Turks, are a bunch of throat-slitters, thugs and gangsters.
Of course, the USA, once again exposed as connected to war crimes, is throwing
up its hands in horror and claiming that the massacre must have been done by
the irresponsible few. We are innocent, they say.
Oh no they’re not. The USA is hand in glove with these
killers and its only complaint is when, like My Lai in 1968, like with Flight
655 in 1978, like those videos from 2007 in Iraq, clear evidence reveals that a
war crime has been committed. The USA trains, finances and arms these gruesome
killers, and, when it cannot do so directly, does so through its allies such as
Turkey or Saudi Arabia. These war crimes go on because the USA has embarked
upon a wholesale war against Islam in which anything is allowed.
They started the war in September 2001 (just think of Tower Number Seven, not
touched by an airplane, suddenly imploding into dust....)
Of course, just in case it gets caught out once too often in war crimes, the
USA has been careful to ensure that it is excluded from the aegis of the
International Criminal Court. Furthermore, in the United Nations Security
Council the USA has a veto which is always sufficient to ensure that the
Council does not put the USA up before the ICC.
However, world public opinion is now becoming fully informed that, like Zionist
Israel, the USA does not care if it commits war crimes. Nor does it care if war
crimes are committed on its behalf. It only cares if a war crime is exposed.
That is why Bradley Manning, a young American soldier is
being tortured in a military prison, when he has not yet been tried and
convicted and why the USA, together with its subservient ally, the UK, is
intent on getting its hands on Julian Assange for allegedly revealing those
videos to world opinion. If he did it, Assange was only doing what journalists
always do if they can i.e., reveal the crimes of governments.
However, the USA, suffused with its sense of arrogant exceptionalism (which
means that the USA believes it can torture and kill indiscriminately while
receiving plaudits from the rest of the world) is not going to stop committing
war crimes. It is only going to try to prevent exposure by, for example,
ensuring that alternative radio and television media such as Press TV are shut
down.
Nor is the USA going to stop its allies from committing war crimes or
straightforward ordinary crimes. As long as a regime agrees to give overt or
covert support to the ever-expanding Zionist entity then, in the USA’s eyes, it
cannot possibly be complicit in anything which is wrong. Which is why Israel
itself commits war crimes, and Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, to take but a few,
daily commit civilian crimes.
So next time you hear hectoring Hilary Clinton lecturing somebody on freedom
and democracy just remember that, behind the rhetoric, there lies an evil
intent to commit war crimes or get somebody else to do them.

Tensions run high in Lebanon as the government declared
an emergency meeting following a bomb attack that killed a top security
official. Clashes and protests have been reported throughout the country amid
opposition calls for the PM to resign.
Riots and protests continued into Saturday as thousands
of people across Lebanon voiced their ire at the car bomb blast in Beirut on
Friday that claimed the lives of eight people. Over a hundred people were also
injured in the explosion that killed Brigadier General Wissam al-Hassan.
Enraged citizens have blocked roads with burning tires as
a sign of their protest, while clashes in the city of Tripoli close to the
southern Syrian border fueled fears the Syria’s conflict is overflowing across
the border.
The secretary-general of Lebanese opposition group Future
Movement, Ahmad Hariri, said that the attack had been masterminded by embattled
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Hariri also condemned Lebanon’s current PM
Najib Mikati to resign immediately, saying that “he is personally
responsible for the blood of General Wissam al-Hassan and the innocent.”
“We accuse Bashar al-Assad of the assassination of Wissam
al-Hassan, the guarantor of the security of the Lebanese,” Hariri told a
Lebanese TV station.
While former
Lebanese Interior Minister Ziad Baroud told al-Jazeera that it was too early to
ascertain who was behind the bombing. "We have no indication whatsoever [of who is behind this]. We know
this is a strong and sad message, and we know this could destabilize the whole
country," said
Baroud.
The attack has
come at a time of strong antagonism between pro-Syrian regime groups and
anti-Assad factions in Lebanon. Many fear that the conflict in Syria will
exacerbate sectarian divisions in neighboring Lebanon.
Rifts are growing
steadily wider in Lebanese society as the countries Sunni Muslims get behind
the rebels and the Shiites offer their support to President Assad.

The security
official who was assassinated was a Sunni Muslim who opposed Assad and the
regime’s strongest ally in Lebanon, the Shiite group Hezbollah.
The blast struck
the Ashrafiyeh district of Beirut, a majority Christian neighborhood of the
Lebanese capital. An explosives-laden car was detonated in a grounded street at
rush hour, injuring over 100 people and decimating surrounding buildings.
It was the first
car bombing in Lebanon since four years ago, when Lebanon’s top anti-terrorism
investigator was killed along with three others.
The UN has
condemned the attack calling for a thorough investigation to find the
perpetrators, while the US called the blast a “terrorist attack.”

The deadly blast in Beirut which killed eight and wounded 118 more has risked destabilizing Lebanon while civil war rages in Syria. Middle Eastern analyst Ali Rizk told RT that the one with the most to gain from the attack was not Syria, but Israel.
RT: So you are there in the city, how would you assess the situation there right now?
Ali Rizk: Lakhdar Brahimi, the UN envoy to Syria, he was here in Beirut just two days ago. In his statements, he said that he was very afraid that the conflict or unrest in Syria could not stay within Syria’s borders forever, and that eventually, if it continues, it will go beyond these borders.
Now, two days after he made these statements, this massive, massive blast – I was at the scene for a couple of hours –we already have the political element coming into play. Some elements of the March 14th movement, which is known to be anti-Bashar al-Assad, even before it was known who was killed in this explosion, they quickly pointed the fingers at the Syrian government. And now with [senior Lebanese intelligence official ]Wissam al-Hassan, the head of internal security has been killed or targeted, is known to be pro-March 14th [and not an ally] of the Syrian government. This will only lead to more and more fingers [being pointed] from March 14th, and from their Western allies being pointed at Syria. [It is] similar to the situation we witnessed when [former Lebanese prime minister] Rafik Hariri was assassinated.
Named after the date of the Cedar Revolution, the March 14th alliance was a coalition of political parties formed in the wake of the 2005 assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri. United by their anti-Syrian stance, the group pushed for a lessening of Damascus’ influence on internal Lebanese affairs, the establishment of a commission to investigate Hariri’s assassination, the resignation of security officials, and the organization of parliamentary elections. The Cedar Revolution secured a withdrawal of Syrian troops from Lebanese soil that same year.
RT: What do you make of the accusations that the Syrian government is behind the blast?
AR: The question that must be raised in all cases is who benefits from such an act? If the Syrian government goes ahead with [such] acts – we don’t have any information – but if it does…I think it’s only endangering itself and committing suicide. Is the Syrian government as such a suicidal government? I myself don’t [think] so.
The side which benefits maybe would be Israel. This might be a coincidence, but it might not be. Hezbollah actually sent an unmanned drone into Israeli airspace just a few days ago. So could this be a response from Israel…because many are saying that Israel doesn’t have the ability, that it now cannot actually wage a war against Hezbollah and against Lebanon. So has Israel resorted to creating internal instability inside Lebanon with the aim of keeping Lebanon preoccupied with itself and taking it out of what we refer to here as the resistance axis, which includes Iran, Syria and Hezbollah? We also must not forget the potential of Israel playing a role.
The fact that many of the al-Qaeda elements and the extremists who are fighting the Syrian government inside Syria, it is said that many of them have fled over here into Lebanon from the city of Homs and taken refuge. The explosion we saw today – car bombings – indeed do bear the traces of al-Qaeda, it affiliates and even some foreign intelligence sources.
RT: As you mentioned, after the Special Envoy to Syria did warn that the Syrian conflict could spread beyond Syria itself. You’ve just been talking about Israel, we’ve seen the events in Lebanon, and of course we’ve been reporting about the impact on Turkey. Which other countries now could be affected by the Syrian crisis?
AR: The Syrian crisis, as I said, could affect the whole region. We also have Iraq. Iraq could be very much involved, especially taking into consideration al-Qaeda and its presence there. The whole region could be set ablaze. Even some of Syria’s foes, like the United States and the Obama administration, have warned of the regional repercussions of the ongoing Syria unrest. So I think the whole region is exposed, and so for this reason it is necessary for there to be a judgment to the initiative by Lakhdar Brahimi, who focused on seeking a ceasefire on the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.
Israel has approved a plan to build 800 new illegal
settlements in East al-Quds (Jerusalem) with tenders for construction expected
to be announced within a few months, an NGO says.
The plan received final approval from the Israeli interior ministry on Thursday
after it had been published for validation in a newspaper, AFP quoted an
official for Peace Now as saying.
"It means that now, a tender can be issued to begin to build 800 housing
units west of Gilo," said Hagit Ofran, referring to a large settlement in
the southern part of East al-Quds.
"Two weeks from the publication of the ad in the newspapers, the plan is
valid and contractors may apply for a construction permit from the
Municipality," Ofran wrote on her blog.
"In the case of Gilo’s western slopes plan, which was initiated by the
Israel Lands Administration, the contractors should win the bid in order to buy
the rights to build, through a tender. Such a tender may be published in a few
months," she explained.
More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 settlements built since the
1967 Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and
illegally annexed East al-Quds.
The Israeli settlements are considered illegal by the UN and
most countries as those territories were captured by Israel in a war in 1967,
and are hence seen as being subject to the Geneva Conventions, which forbids
construction on occupied lands.
In his address to the UN General Assembly on September 27, Acting Palestinian
Authority Chief Mahmoud Abbas condemned Israel’s “catastrophic” settlement
expansion as part of Tel Aviv’s ethnic cleansing campaign against Palestinians
and its attempt to change the historic demography of the region.
Press TV along
with other Iranian television and radio stations have been banned from
broadcasting through the Hot Bird Satellite transponder. The IRIB multiplex was
targeted and one of the frequencies that transmit Press TV through the IRIB
Satellite is now off air.
The hotbird satellite system covers Europe and other regions. Viewers who have
Hot Bird are unable to watch Press TV on their system. The channel has been
taken off air by an order from the European Commission. The decision to take
Press TV off the air was also influenced by pro-Israeli anti-Iranian pressure
groups.
The US based lobby group United Against a Nuclear Iran was boasting on their
website about how they piled pressure on European satellite services to remove
the 19 Iranian stations off the air. Their campaigns have stretched from
pressuring banks to oil companies to cut off all ties with Iran. They are a
part of a bigger network that works towards increasing the sanctions against
Iran.
In early 2012 Ofcom, the UK's media regulating body, decided to remove Press TV
from the British satellite platform. And now several months later the European
satellite provider Eutelsat has ordered the British based company Arqiva to
stop transmitting channels from IRIB satellite.
I then contacted Arqiva's Head of Public Relations, Gary Follows, for an
interview. He declined by saying they were currently not giving interviews on
the subject. He later issued the same statement to IRIB saying:
Massoud Shadjareh of the Islamic Human Rights Commission has also looked into
the issue and cannot find a satisfactory reason for banning the Iranian
channels. He believes there is a bigger agenda at play.
Press TV have now set up a facebook petition and urges supporters to join their
campaign against the censorship. They believe Eutelsat's move was illegal and a
blatant violation of freedom of speech.
A third self-described anarchist from the Pacific
Northwest has been jailed by federal officials for refusing to speak before a
secretive grand jury that the accused have called a politically-motivated
modern-day witch-hunt.
Leah-Lynn Plante, a mid-20s activist from Seattle,
Washington, was ushered out of court by authorities on Wednesday after refusing
for a third time to answer questions forced on her by a grand jury — a panel of
prosecutors convened to determine if an indictment can be issued for a federal
crime.
Plante was one of a handful of people targeted in a
series of raids administered by the FBI and the Joint
Terrorism Task Force on July 25 of this year which the feds say were in
conjunction with an investigation into acts of vandalism that occurred during
May Day protests in Seattle nearly two months prior. As part of their probe,
search warrants were issued at multiple residences of activists in the area,
including Plante’s, demanding that dwellers provide agents with
“anti-government or anarchist literature” in their homes and any flags,
flag-making material, cell phones, hard drives, address books, and black
clothing.
“As if they had taken pointers from Orwell’s 1984, they
took books, artwork and other various literature as ‘evidence’ as well as many
other personal belongings even though they seemed to know that nobody there was
even in Seattle on May Day,” Plante recalls in a post
published this week to her Tumblr page.
Only one week after the raid, Neil Fox of the National
Lawyers Guild told Seattle Times that raids like this are create a “chilling
effect” by going after lawful, constitutionally-allowed private
possessions.
“It concerns us any time there are law-enforcement raids
that target political literature, First Amendment-protected materials,” Fox said.
This week Plante still maintains her innocence, now she
has reason to believe that the raid that has left her suffering from
post-traumatic stress syndrome may have been more than an investigation into an
activity, but an ideology. Plante says a Freedom of Information Act request she
filed in the months after her apartment door was broken down by armed officials
reveals that the grand jury investigating her was first convened in March, two
months before the vandalism she is being accused of even occurred.
“They are trying to investigate anarchists and persecute
them for their beliefs. This is a fishing expedition. This is a witch hunt,” she says this
week.
On the day of her third meeting with the grand jury on
Wednesday, Plante wrote on her blog that she’d almost certainly be jailed on
charges of contempt for refusing once again to testify about herself but said
she was willing to face the consequences for exercising her right to remain
silent.
“I do not look forward to what inevitably awaits me
today, but I accept it,” she writes. “My convictions are unwavering and
will not be shaken by their harassment. Today is October 10th, 2012 and I am
ready to go to prison.”
Hours later, her Tumblr was updated with a note authored
by one of her supporters confirming that Plante “was thrown into prison for
civil contempt” after her court date. Plante is now the third anarchist to
be imprisoned in the last month for refusing to answer questions about their
belief and behavior before a grand jury.
Last month, Plante spoke openly about the grand jury
before refusing their questioning for only her second time. “I believe that
these hearings are politically motivated,” she wrote in a September 16
statement. “The government wants to use them to collect information that it
can use in a campaign of repression. I refuse to have any part of it, I will
never answer their questions, I will never speak.”
“While I hate the very idea of prison, I am ready to face
it in order to stay true to my personal beliefs. I know that they want to
kidnap me and isolate me from my friends and my loved ones in an effort to
coerce me to speak. It will not work. I know that if I am taken away, I will
not be alone.”
Katherine “KteeO” Olejnik, a fellow anarchist from the
Seattle area, was taken into federal custody on September 28 for refusing to
cooperate with a grand jury, a decision she said was based on humanity and her
First Amendment protections.
“I cannot and will not say something that could greatly
harm a person’s life, and providing information that could lead to long term
incarceration would be doing that,” Olejnik wrote before being booked. “Icannot
and will not be a party to a McCarthyist policy that is asking individuals to
condemn each other based on political beliefs.”
On the No Political Repression blog, a support of Olejnik
writes that she was prohibited from taking notes during her time on the stand,
during which she says she resisted questioning.
Days before her imprisonment began, Matt Duran was also
jailed for contempt. According to his attorneys, Duran was not only imprisoned
by placed in solitary confinement, denied intimate contact with his lawyer,
denied visitor requests forms, personal dietary requirements and sunlight an
fresh air.
A senior Iranian lawmaker has hit out at Canada for its
“hostile” decision to close its embassy in Tehran, saying the Canadian
government is “blindly” following Britain.
“The British government certainly seeks to lead its friends to the same path
that it had taken. Therefore, this decision was in fact blind acquiescence by
the Canadian government,” Chairman of the Majlis (parliament) Committee on
National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi told Fars news agency
on Friday.
He added that Canada is under the control of Britain and the governor appointed
by the British queen, saying that all important decisions are made by the
governor in coordination with the queen.
The Iranian legislator emphasized that London has been disappointed with Iran's
move to close the British embassy in Tehran.
In November 2011, Iranian lawmakers voted by a large majority to downgrade
diplomatic ties with the United Kingdom in response to the UK's decision to
impose sanctions on the Central Bank of Iran, over the allegation that Tehran's
nuclear energy program may consist of a covert military agenda.
Two days after the decision by Iran’s Majlis, hundreds of Iranian students
staged a protest outside the British Embassy in Tehran pulling down the UK flag
and demanding the expulsion of the British envoy.
Following the incident, Britain's Foreign Secretary William Hague announced on
November 30, 2011, that London is withdrawing its diplomatic staff from Iran
and that the Iranian embassy in London will be closed.
Boroujerdi further said that Canada sought to undermine the
16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) recently held in Tehran, adding
the Canadian government’s decision was also a reaction to the success in
holding the summit.
He called on Iran's Foreign Ministry to show a swift and firm reaction to
Canada’s move and immediately expel the staff of the Canadian embassy in
Tehran.
The 16th NAM Summit wrapped up in the Iranian capital on August 31, with the
member states passing a final resolution, which included over 700 clauses.
Closing ranks with the US and
Israel, Canada has denounced Iran as the biggest threat to global security and
said it will expel all of the Islamic Republic’s diplomats from its territory
by September 12th.
"Canada
views the government of Iran as the most significant threat to global peace and
security in the world today," Foreign Minister John Baird said in a statement.
"Under
the circumstances, Canada can no longer maintain a diplomatic presence in Iran
… Diplomatic relations between Canada and Iran have been suspended," he added.
The Foreign Minister also blasted
Iran for its support of Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, as well as Tehran's
controversial nuclear program. The fact that the Canadian government is a
staunch ally of Israel has also played a part in the decision to cut ties with
Iran.
“The
Iranian regime is providing increasing military assistance to the Assad regime;
it refuses to comply with UN resolutions pertaining to its nuclear program; it
routinely threatens the existence of Israel and engages in racist anti-Semitic
rhetoric and incitement to genocide," Baird’s statement claimed.
This statement by the Canadian FM
was made during the APEC Summit currently underway in Vladivostok. And
political analyst and the director of the Center for Research on Globalization
Michel Chossudovsky told RT that it's no coinicidence such a platform was
chosen for announcing the move – which, Chossudovsky believes, wasn't really
made by Canada at all.
"This
decision wasn’t taken in Ottawa, it was taken in Washington," Chossudovsky told RT.
He added that this form of
diplomatic pressure may be just the first step of many more to come.
"All
acts of mediations and diplomacy and peace-building are being scrapped in favor
of a possible military strike on Iran".
Relations with Iran have been
strained since former Canadian ambassador, Ken Taylor, helped rescue six
Americans from Iran during the hostage crisis in 1980. Ties between the two
states took and even bigger hit in 2003, after a freelance photographer with
dual Canadian-Iranian citizenship died in custody after being arrested while
taking photographs outside a Tehran prison. Following that incident Iran
recalled its ambassador. The Islamic Republic also ordered Canada's ambassador
to leave the country after trying unsuccessfully to come to an agreement on an
exchange of ambassadors for some time.
Canada is certainly not the first
country to cut ties with Tehran. The United States hasn't had an embassy in
Iran since the 1980 hostage crisis. Britain also recalled its entire diplomatic
staff in 2011, following a major attack on its embassy which it claims was
sanctioned by the country's ruling elite. After the attack, Britain expelled
Iranian diplomats from the UK.
“Why on earth is the Zionist regime making threats against
Iran? How many missiles have they prepared themselves for? 10,000? 20,000?
50,000? 100,000? 150,000 or more?"
These words were expressed in full force on November 27, 2011 by Iranian
Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi.
He warned Tel Aviv that "If the Zionist regime ever
decides to carry out its threats against Iran, the Basij forces will exact
revenge on the entity for its long span of bullying oppressed nations.”
There is a recently renewed call for military strike on Iranian nuclear sites
on the part of the Zionist regime. It is reported that the voices coming from
the offices of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister
Ehud Barak about Iran are “worrisome.”
Governor of the Bank of Israel Stanley Fischer says that Iran strike spells
security and financial crisis and that the entity is gearing to deal with
recession.
“The primary responsibility of each country is to maintain its security. It is
possible to describe situations of widespread war which would be very difficult
to deal with. We are preparing for a major crisis and for security situation
which is much worse,” Fischer said in an interview with Channel 2 News on Friday.
Saudi Arabia has warned Israel that it would shoot down any Israeli
fighter jets that enter its airspace en route to an attack on Iran. However,
other sources says Riyadh might allow Israeli jets to enter its airspace if
Israel coordinates the military strike with Washington and does not embark on
military strike unilaterally.
More to the point, Western presstitute media have ratcheted
up an anti-Iran campaign at the behest of their Zionist masters with the
express intention of rending any possible Israeli strike on Iran legitimate in
the eyes of the western community. In line with this satanic policy and in
order to add fuel to fire, Reuters reported that “Iran has stepped up work to
develop a nuclear warhead,” quoting Israeli newspapers as saying on Sunday.
On Thursday, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak shamelessly lied to the media and said that US President Barack
Obama had received a new National Intelligence Estimate to the effect that Iran
had made significant and surprising progress toward military nuclear capability.
However, US officials said on Thursday the United States still believes that Iran is not on the verge of having
a nuclear weapon and that Tehran has not made a decision to pursue one.
A White House National Security Council spokesman refuted the Israeli reports,
saying the US intelligence assessment of Iran's nuclear activities had not
changed since earlier this year.
"We believe that there is time and space to continue to pursue a
diplomatic path, backed by growing international pressure on the Iranian
government," the spokesman said. "We continue to assess that Iran is
not on the verge of achieving a nuclear weapon."
Unfortunately, the international community is prone to
forget that Israel is the thieving entity and that it is an irresponsible
regime with a huge arsenal of at least 300 nuclear warheads at its disposal. It
is excruciatingly manifest that the nuclear reality of Israel and what
immeasurable destruction it can wreak on the entire region and the world are
often consigned to oblivion and any suggestion to that effect is brushed away
with a gesture of nonchalance. Ironically, global ignorance is turned into an
asset for the Israeli regime in order to carry on or out with its threats
against Iran.
In fact, what torments the Israeli officials tremendously is that Iran is
paying no attention to the US-orchestrated illegal sanctions. Iran believes
that the sanctions are like obstacles placed on its path by ill wishers and
that they have to be overcome in one way or another. In other words, Iran
stands tall against the bullies and their heavy-handed tactics. That is why the
Israeli top echelons have taken recourse to lies and rumors about the country.
From a military point of view, Iran is an extremely powerful country. In July,
the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) test-fired indigenous missiles in a
three-day military drill codenamed The Great Prophet 7.
A number of missiles were test-fired including Shahab (Meteor) 1, 2, 3, Khalij
Fars (Persian Gulf), Tondar (Lightning), Fateh (Victor) and Zelzal (earthquake)
as well as Qiam (Uprising).
The Pentagon has recently confessed to the “lethality and effectiveness” of
Iranian missiles, saying that Tehran is a “formidable force” in defending its
territory.
According to a June 29 report by the Pentagon, “Iran has
boosted the lethality and effectiveness of existing systems by improving
accuracy and developing new submunition payloads” that “extend the destructive
power over a wider area than a solid warhead.”
Signed by US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, the report had been submitted to
the four US congressional defense committees to comply with a 2010 directive to
provide an annual classified and unclassified assessment of Iran’s military
power.
Be that as it may, Iran’s prodigious military capabilities, as it has often
pointed out, are defensive and will only be used against aggressors and those
who threaten the country’s territorial integrity.
But if Israel ever ventures into a military strike against Iran, it must ask
itself this question first: how many Iranian missiles can the Zionist entity
take 10,000? 20,000? 50,000? 100,000? 150,000 or more?
A senior Egyptian cleric has accused Saudi Arabia and Qatar of interfering in the internal affairs of other Muslim nations, calling the two states ‘Israel’s servants,’ Press TV reports.
Sheikh Mohammad Alaedin Madhi said the two countries were implementing an Israeli-US plan in Syria.
"Firstly, is there a democracy in Qatar and Saudi Arabia? I don’t think so. They interfered in Libya. They killed a hundred times more people than Gaddafi [killed] in Libya. They have nothing to do with Islam," Madhi said in an exclusive interview with Press TV in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
"Saudi Arabia buys arms and weapons from the US every year. Who do they use these weapons against? They use their weapons against the Houthi Muslims,” he said, referring to the north-based Shia minority in Yemen.
“They killed Muslims in Bahrain. They threaten Syria, which is a Muslim nation. Why don’t they fight against Israel? Qatar and Saudi Arabia are Israel’s servants."
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011. The violence has claimed the lives of hundreds of people, including many security forces.
Damascus blames ‘outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups’ for the unrest, asserting that it is being orchestrated from abroad.
The cleric also praised the Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah for standing against Israel.
"Today Lebanon’s Hezbollah is the only force challenging Israel. It’s natural that Israel seeks to destroy Hezbollah through destroying Syria and disintegrating the country. Israel wants to have a civil war in Syria to destroy Hezbollah," Madhi said.
He further criticized Saudi-owned television news channel, Al Arabiya, and the Qatar-owned broadcaster, Al Jazeera, for "serving Israeli interests."
Riyadh and Doha have already been accused of waging a civil war in Syria by supporting armed groups in the country.
According to reports, Qatar has created a mercenary force based in Turkey - with Ankara's full knowledge - to topple the Syrian government.
The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia has said that all churches in the Arabian Peninsula must be destroyed. The statement prompted anger and dismay from Christians throughout the Middle East.
Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah made the controversial statement in a response to a question from a Kuwaiti NGO delegation. A Kuwaiti parliamentarian had called for a ban on the construction of new churches in February, but so far the initiative has not been passed into law. The NGO, called the Society of the Revival of Islamic Heritage, asked the Sheikh to clarify what Islamic law says on the matter.
The Grand Mufti, who is the highest official of religious law in Saudi Arabia, as well as the head of the Supreme Council of Islamic Scholars, cited the Prophet Mohammed, who said the Arabian Peninsula is to exist under only one religion.
The Sheikh went on to conclude that it was therefore necessary for Kuwait, being a part of the Arabian Peninsula, to destroy all churches on its territory.
In February, Kuwaiti MP Osama al-Munawar announced on Twitter that he was planning to submit legislation that would remove all churches in the country. However, he later clarified that existing churches should remain, while the construction of new non-Islamic places of worship would be banned.
Another MP, Mohamemd Hayef, backed al-Munawar, saying the number of churches in the country was already disproportionate to the number of Christians.
As for Saudi Arabia, all religions other than Islam are banned and there are no churches, although a small minority of Christians is theoretically allowed to practice their religion in the privacy of their own home.
The Grand Mufti’s words have caused a heated response from Christians living in Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and other countries throughout the Middle East. A number of bloggers also wrote on the issue.
“Considering the hysteria that besets the West whenever non-authoritative individuals offend Islam – for instance, a fringe, unknown pastor – imagine what would happen if a Christian counterpart to the Grand Mufti, say the Pope, were to declare that all mosques in Italy must be destroyed; imagine the nonstop Western media frenzy that would erupt, all the shrill screams of 'intolerance' and 'bigot,' demands for apologies if not resignation, nonstop handwringing by sensitive politicians, and worse,” Raymond Ibrahim of Jihad Watch, a blog critical of extremist Islamic laws, wrote.

Despite the sensational news value of the story, the Western media has been remarkably silent. No major news services have covered the story yet. Ibrahim argues that the Grand Mufti gets a free pass even when he incites Muslims to destroy churches because Saudi Arabia is an ally of the United States.
Restrictions on Islam in the West
The Grand Mufti’s words seem to mirror what a number of US politicians have been calling for – only their words were aimed at mosques and Muslims. In January, Republican Presidential candidate Herman Cain said Americans have a constitutional right to ban mosques, arguing that Islam combines church and state, which contradicts the US Constitution.
"They're using the church part of our First Amendment to infuse their morals in that community, and the people of that community do not like it,” Cain said on Fox News Sunday.
In November, Pat Buchanan, who vied for the Republican presidential nomination on a number of occasions, agreed with radio host Bryan Fischer in promoting limits to immigration from Islamic countries and the construction of new mosques.
In 2009 a constitutional amendment banning the construction of minarets was adopted in Switzerland following a referendum on the subject. Almost 58 per cent of the population said yes to the initiative, although the traditionally leftist French-speaking part of the country rejected it. The construction of new minarets is now banned throughout Switzerland, though the four existing minarets in Zurich, Geneva, Winterthur and Wangei bei Olten are to remain.
In 2010, French legislators banned face-covering headgear in public. The ban meant that women caught wearing the burqa in public could be fined up to 150 euros and/or be forced to participate in citizenship education. Proponents of the legislation argued that face covering was both an issue of security and social integrity, as facial recognition is important for communication. Opponents said the law encroached on personal freedoms.
Thirty-five people have been killed in the latest non-UN-sanctioned US assassination drone strikes in Yemen and Pakistan.
On Friday, US drones fired several missiles targeting areas in Yemen's southeastern province of al-Bayda, killing 20 people, while 15 people were killed in attacks in Pakistan's northwestern tribal areas.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a local security official said that the number of casualties announced in the Jabra area of Yemen’s al-Bayda governorate was based on an initial security report from the targeted area.
The official added that more than two US drones were still striking several areas in three villages outside al-Bayda city.
In Pakistan, at least 15 people were killed and three were injured in the Shaktoi area of South Waziristan, which borders Afghanistan.
Some sources said missiles fired from the US aircraft landed on a vehicle, while others said they targeted a house.
Dozens of people have lost their lives in CIA-operated assassination drone attacks in Pakistan since the beginning of 2012.
Washington claims that its airstrikes target militants crossing the Afghanistan border, but local sources say civilians have been the main victims of the non-UN-sanctioned strikes.
Pakistanis have held many demonstrations to condemn the United States’ violations of their national sovereignty.
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann, saw profits by sinking millions into a Goldman Sachs fund that invested in mortgage-backed obligations, which were owned by lenders who foreclosed on thousands of Floridians.
By examining the candidate's May 2011 financial disclosure forms, Think Progress determined that Romney and his wife invested at least $2 million in the Goldman Sachs Strategic Income Fund (institutional class). In 2011, about 24.5 percent of that fund was invested in mortgage-backed obligations. Another 8 percent was invested in banks.
Between April 2010 and March 2011, the fund grew by 7.88 percent. Raw Story

The former private-equity executive and Massachusetts governor earned more than half his income from capital gains and dividends, which are taxed at a top rate of 15 percent, rather than the 35 percent top rate for ordinary income, the filings showed. He donated $7 million to charity in the last two years, including $4.1 million to the Mormon church. sfgate.com
Since Romney did not list the fund on his 2007 financial disclosure forms, it is safe to assume he made the investment - and reaped the rewards - after the financial meltdown that began in late-2008. santarosademocrats.com
In October, Romney suggested that the solution to the foreclosure crisis was "don't try and stop the foreclosure process. Let it run its course and hit the bottom." While that process is bad for Florida homeowners, these investments show it may have been good for the Romneys. thinkprogress.org
Think Progress' Josh Israel concluded that "these and the other owners mortgage-backed securities included in this fund likely have attempted to foreclose on tens of thousands of Floridians." thinkprogress.org
An examination of civil cases filed in Miami-Dade county alone, by just the current owners of the mortgage obligations for now-defunct Washington Mutual and Countrywide, suggests more than 5,000 foreclosure cases were filed in 2010.
We are at a point in time where all good
men and women will need to stand up against the establishment and its evil
controls on society or perish under the boots of tyranny. In many ways, today
is like being in 1939 Germany, only this time, fascism has grown throughout the
bankrupt Western Nations and the people being persecuted are those opposing the
crimes of US, UK, NATO partners, and Israel.
The recent political and military actions
by NATO countries has put half the World into turmoil by aggressive war,
planned insurrections, their support of brutal dictatorships while putting the
rest of the World on a terrorist watch list.
Today, it’s against the law to speak out
against Israel or any nation that supports Israel. Doing so would brand you a
terrorist. The new laws in place allow our western governments to kidnap,
imprison, torture and murder you. They have given themselves the right to act
on someone’s accusations without any proof. Today, in the USA, if someone
doesn’t like what you say, you can be murdered by presidential decree. You no
longer have the right to defend yourself or face your accusers in a court of
law either. So, I ask you, is this the world that you want to live in? Would
you blindly support your leaders that have become puppets to a ruthless nation like
Israel who is bent on the ethnic cleansing of the indigenous population in
Palestine? Would you go to war against Iran on the basis of lies as the US and NATO
terrorists did in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya?
If you don’t know the truth about what goes
on in the World, you better smarten up because Israel, Britain, France and the
US want to start a war with Iran that threatens to envelop the entire World.
Western political leaders listen to foreign
lobby groups and legislate your rights away, by silencing you and stopping you
from fighting back. If you persist, they make your life miserable, and if you continue
to protest, they take you out permanently. They've already made a
preliminary list of alleged trouble makers they want killed. One of my
friends is on that list!!!
The NATO countries powered by a wealthy economic
cartel class are morally and economically bankrupt. They have turned the World
upside down in their bid to maintain control of global economics by allowing
Israel to get away with evils that were deemed crimes against the peace of the
World at the Nuremberg Trials after World War 2.
The attached video shows the hypocrisy of
the Western nations as they have allowed successive Zionist regimes to get away
with crimes against humanity. The International Criminal Court of Justice has
not taken action against Israel, the US or UK for their War Crimes and Crimes
Against Humanity in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya because they control the
United Nations Security Council. So where is the justice? What right do the
western leaders have to declare our nations hold a moral system of freedom and
democracy when they commit mass murder or excuse other nations of doing so?
They’re all a bunch of monsters that need to be dealt with!!
Road to Endless War - The Final Chapter
- (Part 5) - Palestine, the real story
Speaking truth to lies and standing up for
what is right are considered terrorist acts today by those currently in power
and by those who crave the seats of power. To lead a western nation, one must
grovel to Zionist lobby groups in order to win those seats of power.
Elections in all western Nations are a
farce when all the candidates presented represent Zionist ambitions. It’s pure
treason of the highest sort! There’s no democracy when all parties are bought
and paid for by Zionist lobby groups.
AND, when a real candidate comes along that
threatens the status quo, special voting machines or organizations are hired to
make sure the vote count comes out in favor of the Zionist candidate like we
saw in Iowa recently. That is why most countries have eliminated or are
planning to eliminate the paper ballot. The paper ballot system is the ONLY
system that has a trail when done right thus making it very difficult to cheat.
Santorum says there's a US program to
kill Iranian scientists and dead ones are a wonderful thing
Once again, the Zionist candidates all recommend
going to war with Iran based on LIES and will support any criminal laws that
infringe on your ability to stop them. Thanks to these western government Zionist
supporters your freedom of speech on the Internet will be gone very soon.
When you combine the new Orwelian laws made
to take you away, imprison you, allow torture, and assassination, you can blame
Zionism. This is what supporting Israel at any cost means. It means
Whoever speaks out against Israeli crimes, regardless
of where they live, are considered the enemies of all western nations. My speaking
out in this post will probably put me on that list and of course disqualify me
from the economic system they control but I don’t care because I will not compromise
my principals or moral oath to uphold truth, honesty and justice. Whereas our
governments allow the Zionists to get away with mass murder, kidnapping, torture,
and ethnic cleansing. To me they are an Abomination!
The Western nations are controlled by an
evil that is so paranoid, vicious and blood thirsty that it would destroy the
World rather than commit to truth, justice and peace. Nations like that, or nations
that support their heinous crimes, are doomed to failure because they have no
empathy for life. The lack of empathy is the very definition of evil and it is
so plain to see who are responsible for committing atrocities since the end of
the second World War. Make no mistake this group are pure evil.
Crimes Against Humanity - Yesterday
& Today
Any country that occupies another country with
its military will always declare that those fighting against their occupation
are terrorists. This was true with England’s occupation of Ireland, Germany’s
occupation of France, and Israel’s current occupation of Palestine.
Human morals and practices come from
spiritual or religious belief, and are a major pillar in the foundations of
civilization. There is no room for occupation, torture, murder, war, and ethnic
cleansing. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all preach these values so it is
not a crisis of religion that we have in the Holy Land, it is a crisis of
morality. Zionism is political not religious. In fact, Zionism is a vicious national
regime much the same as Nazi Germany was and if you ask a person that follows
Judaism, they will agree.
I was brought up with Christian beliefs but
I have learned over the years that ALL religions or spiritual ways have
something to offer and so acceptance of all is important in the quest for who I
am and the meaning of life.
Gaza in Plain Language—Revisited.
Honoring the March to Gaza - March 4th, 2011
There are groups today that call themselves
Christian Zionists and support Israel no matter what they do, even if it means
the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people. That is not Christian belief,
that is an evil twisted belief. Thou shalt not kill and love your neighbor are
the morals that real Christians believe.
I consider the monetary system the root of
all evil, which then begs the question, who, what and where does this money
trail lead to? Wealth and the power are what corrupts people…so who enables the
corruption? All one needs to do is to follow the money if they want to find the
evil behind it. The Economic cartel grows like a sickening disease pumping its will
into greedy power hungry monsters while promising kingdoms on earth to those
that embrace it.
PHASE 3 "The Series" - (Part
19/20) The Light Within
The World has been turned upside down and
requires your help in righting all the wrongs done to the people of other
nations. Don’t wait around for government to do it, because they will not fix
or admit to the crimes they have committed or excused.
Speak truth to power, demand Justice
against Israeli, US and NATO Crimes, show respect to others, and be true to
yourself. This is a battle of good verses evil.
“What can we do to change things?” Well,
would you give up the current monetary system and its illusions for a world
without war, disease, famine and poverty? Will you stand up and take your
countries back from the private banking economic cartel?
