US senator threatens Pakistan with war

US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham

A high-profile American senator has said that the United States should consider military action against Pakistan if Islamabad continues to sponsor militant attacks against US troops in Afghanistan.

“The sovereign nation of Pakistan is engaging in hostile acts against the United States and our ally Afghanistan that must cease,” said Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who serves on the Senate Armed Services Committee, the Associated Press reported Sunday.

"They're killing American soldiers," he noted, adding, "If they continue to embrace terrorism as a part of their national strategy, we're going to have to put all options on the table, including defending our troops."

Graham warned that Pakistan should choose between supporting the Haqqani militant network and helping the US fight al-Qaeda.

The remarks come as the outgoing US Joint Chief of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, said on Thursday that Pakistan's spy agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), was supporting the Taliban-allied Haqqani network of militants, blamed for a recent assault on the US embassy in the Afghan capital, Kabul.

“In choosing to use violent extremism as an instrument of policy, the government of Pakistan, and most especially the Pakistani Army and the ISI, jeopardizes not only the prospect of our strategic partnership but Pakistan's opportunity to be a respected nation with legitimate regional influence,'' Mullen claimed.

Graham also urged Washington to reconsider its financial assistance to Islamabad.

Washington has frequently blamed Pakistan for not doing enough to fight terrorism in its troubled northwestern tribal belt, which runs along the Afghan border.

Also souring bilateral ties have been the US unauthorized drone attacks on the Pakistani soil, which Islamabad regards as violation of its sovereignty. Many Pakistani civilians have fallen victim to US drone attacks in the country.

The security situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan has severely deteriorated since the 2001 US-led invasion of Afghanistan under the pretext of 'war on terror' with steadily growing terror attacks in both countries.

Speech Delivered to the UN General Assembly by Mr. M. Abbas

Mr. President of the General Assembly of the United Nations,
Mr. Secretary-General of the United Nations,
Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

At the outset, I extend my congratulations to H.E. Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz AI-Nasser on his assumption of the Presidency of the Assembly for this session, and wish him all success.

I extend today my sincere congratulations, on behalf of the Palestine Liberation
Organization and the Palestinian people, to the government and people of South Sudan for its deserved admission as a full member of the United Nations, wishing them progress and prosperity.

I also congratulate the Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Ban Ki-moon, on his election for a new term at the helm of the United Nations. This renewal of confidence reflects the world's appreciation for his efforts, which have strengthened the role of the United Nations.

Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Question Palestine is intricately linked with the United Nations via the resolutions adopted by its various organs and agencies and via the essential and lauded role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East - UNRWA – which embodies the international responsibility towards the plight of Palestine refugees, who are the victims of Al-Nakba (Catastrophe) that occurred in 1948.

We aspire for and seek a greater and more effective role for the United Nations in working to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in our region that ensures the inalienable, legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people as defined by the resolutions of international legitimacy of the United Nations.

Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen

A year ago, at this san1e time, distinguished leaders in this hall addressed the stalled peace efforts in our region. Everyone had high hopes for a new round of final status negotiations, which had begun in early September in Washington under the direct auspices of President Barack Obama and with participation of the Quartet, and with Egyptian and Jordanian participation, to reach a peace agreement within one year. We entered those negotiations with open hearts and attentive ears and sincere intentions, and we were ready with our documents, papers and proposals. But the negotiations broke down just weeks after their launch.

After this, we did not give up and did not cease our efforts for initiatives and contacts.

Over the past year we did not leave a door to be knocked or channel to be tested or path to be taken and we did not ignore any formal or informal party of influence and stature to be addressed. We positively considered the various ideas and proposals and initiatives presented from many countries and parties. But all of these sincere efforts and endeavors undertaken by international parties were repeatedly wrecked by the positions of the Israeli government, which quickly dashed the hopes raised by the launch of negotiations last September.

The core issue here is that the Israeli government refuses to commit to terms of reference for the negotiations that are based on international law and United Nations resolutions, and that it frantically continues to intensify building of settlements on the territory of the State of Palestine.

Settlement activities embody the core of the policy of colonial military occupation of the land of the Palestinian people and all of the brutality of aggression and racial discrimination against our people that this policy entails. This policy, which constitutes a breach of international humanitarian law and United Nations resolutions, is the primary cause for the failure of the peace process, the collapse of dozens of opportunities, and the burial of the great hopes that arose from the signing of the Declaration of Principles in 1993 between the Palestine Liberation Organization and Israel to achieve a just peace that would begin a new era for our region.

The reports of United Nations missions as well as by several Israeli institutions and civil societies convey a horrific picture about the size of the settlement campaign, which the Israeli government does not hesitate to boast about and which it continues to execute through the systematic confiscation of the Palestinian lands and the construction of thousands of new settlement units in various areas of the West Bank, particularly in East Jerusalem, and accelerated construction of the annexation Wall that is eating up large tracts of our land, dividing it into separate and isolated islands and cantons, destroying family life and communities and the livelihoods of tens of thousands of families.

The occupying Power also continues to refuse permits for our people to build in Occupied East Jerusalem, at the same time that it intensifies its decades-long campaign of demolition and confiscation of homes, displacing Palestinian owners and residents under a multi-pronged policy of ethnic cleansing aimed at pushing them away from their ancestral homeland. In addition, orders have been issued to deport elected representatives from the city of Jerusalem. The occupying Power also continues to undertake excavations that threaten our holy places, and its military checkpoints prevent our citizens from getting access to their mosques and churches, and it continues to besiege the Holy City with a ring of settlements imposed to separate the Holy City from the rest of the Palestinian cities.

The occupation is racing against time to redraw the borders on our land according to what it wants and to impose a fait accompli on the ground that changes the realities and that is undermining the realistic potential for the existence of the State of Palestine.

At the same time, the occupying Power continues to impose its blockade on the Gaza Strip and to target Palestinian civilians by assassinations, air strikes and artillery shelling, persisting with its war of aggression of three years ago on Gaza, which resulted in massive destruction of homes, schools, hospitals, and mosques, and the thousands of martyrs and wounded.

The occupying Power also continues its incursions in areas of the Palestinian National Authority through raids, arrests and killings at the checkpoints. In recent years, the criminal actions of armed settler militias, who enjoy the special protection of the occupation army, has intensified with the perpetration of frequent attacks against our people, targeting their homes, schools, universities, mosques, fields, crops and trees. Despite our repeated warnings, the occupying Power has not acted to curb these attacks and we hold them fully responsible for the crimes of the settlers.

These are just a few examples of the policy of the Israeli colonial settlement occupation, and this policy is responsible for the continued failure of the successive international attempts to salvage the peace process.

This policy will destroy the chances of achieving a two-State solution upon which there is an international consensus, and here I caution aloud: This settlement policy threatens to also undermine the structure of the Palestinian National Authority and even end its existence.

In addition, we now face the imposition new conditions not previously raised, conditions that will transform the raging conflict in our inflamed region into a religious conflict and a threat to the future of a million and a half Christian and Muslim Palestinians, citizens of Israel, a matter which we reject and which is impossible for us to accept being dragged into.

All of these actions taken by Israel in our country are unilateral actions and are not based on any earlier agreements. Indeed, what we witness is a selective application of the agreements aimed at perpetuating the occupation. Israel reoccupied the cities of the West Bank by a unilateral action, and reestablished the civil and military occupation by a unilateral action, and it is the one that detennines whether or not a Palestinian citizen has the right to reside in any part of the Palestinian Territory. And it is confiscating our land and our water and obstructing our movement as well as the movement of goods. And it is the one obstructing our whole destiny. All of this is unilateral.

Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen
In 1974, our deceased leader Yasser Arafat came to this hall and assured the Members of the General Assembly of our affinnative pursuit for peace, urging the United Nations to realize the inalienable national rights of the Palestinian people, stating: "Do not let the olive branch fall from my hand".

In 1988, President Arafat again addressed the General Assembly, which convened in Geneva to hear him, where he submitted the Palestinian peace program adopted by the Palestine National Council at its session held that year in Algeria.

When we adopted this program, we were taking a painful and very difficult step for all of us, especially those, including myself, who were forced to leave their homes and their towns and villages, carrying only some of our belongings and our grief and our memories and the keys of our homes to the camps of exile and the Diaspora in the 1948 AI-Nakba, one of the worst operations of uprooting, destruction and removal of a vibrant and cohesive society that had been contributing in a pioneering and leading way m the cultural, educational and economic renaissance of the Arab Middle East.

Yet, because we believe in peace and because of our conviction in international
legitimacy, and because we had the courage to make difficult decisions for our people, and in the absence of absolute justice, we decided to adopt the path of relative justice - justice that is possible and could correct part of the grave historical injustice committed against our people.

Thus, we agreed to establish the State of Palestine on only 22% of the territory of historical Palestine - on all the Palestinian Territory occupied by Israel in 1967.

We, by taking that historic step, which was welcomed by the States of the world, made a major concession in order to achieve a historic compromise that would allow peace to be made in the land of peace.

In the years that followed - from the Madrid Conference and the Washington negotiations leading to the Oslo agreement, which was signed 18 years ago in the garden of the White House and was linked with the letters of mutual recognition between the PLO and Israel, we persevered and dealt positively and responsibly with all efforts aimed at the achievement of a lasting peace agreement. Yet, as we said earlier, every initiative and every conference and every new round of negotiations and every movement was shattered on the rock of the Israeli settlement expansion project.

Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen

I confirm, on behalf of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, which will remain so until the end of the conflict in all its aspects and until the resolution of all final status issues, the following:

1. The goal of the Palestinian people is the realization of their inalienable national rights in their independent State of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital, on all the land of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, which Israel occupied in the June 1967 war, in conformity with the resolutions of international legitimacy and with the achievement of a just and agreed upon solution to the Palestine refugee issue in accordance with resolution 194, as stipulated in the Arab Peace Initiative which presented the consensus Arab vision to resolve the core the Arab-Israeli conflict and to achieve a just and comprehensive peace. To this we adhere and this is what we are working to achieve. Achieving this desired peace also requires the release of political prisoners and detainees in Israeli prisons without delay.

2. The PLO and the Palestinian people adhere to the renouncement of violence and rejection and condemning of terrorism in all its forms, especially State terrorism, and adhere to all agreements signed between the Palestine Liberation Organization and Israel.

3. We adhere to the option of negotiating a lasting solution to the conflict in accordance with resolutions of international legitimacy. Here, I declare that the Palestine Liberation Organization is ready to return immediately to the negotiating table on the basis of the adopted terms of reference based on international legitimacy and a complete cessation of settlement activities.

4. Our people will continue their popular peaceful resistance to the Israeli occupation and its settlement and apartheid policies and its construction of the racist annexation Wall, and they receive support for their resistance, which is consistent with international humanitarian law and international conventions and has the support of peace activists from Israel and around the world, reflecting an impressive, inspiring and courageous example of the strength of this defenseless people, armed only with their dreams, courage, hope and slogans in the face of bullets, tanks, tear gas and bulldozers.

5. When we bring our plight and our case to this international podium, it is a confirmation of our reliance on the political and diplomatic option and is a confirmation that we do not undertake unilateral steps. Our efforts are not aimed at isolating Israel or de-legitimizing it; rather we want to gain legitimacy for the cause of the people of Palestine. We only aim to de-legitimize the settlement activities, the occupation and apartheid and the logic of ruthless force, and we believe that all the countries of the world stand with us in this regard.

I am here to say on behalf of the Palestinian people and the Palestine Liberation Organization: We extend our hands to the Israeli government and the Israeli people for peacemaking.

I say to them: Let us urgently build together a future for our children where they can enjoy freedom, security and prosperity. Let us build the bridges of dialogue instead of checkpoints and walls of separation, and build cooperative relations based on parity and equity between two neighboring States - Palestine and Israel - instead of policies of occupation, settlement, war and eliminating the other.

Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen

Despite the unquestionable right of our people to self-determination and to the
independence of our State as stipulated in international resolutions, we have accepted in the past few years to engage in what appeared to be a test of our worthiness, entitlement and eligibility.

During the last two years our national authority has implemented a program to build our State institutions. Despite the extraordinary situation and the Israeli obstacles imposed, a serious extensive project was launched that has included the implementation of plans to enhance and advance the judiciary and the apparatus for maintenance of order and security, to develop the administrative, financial, and oversight systems, to upgrade the performance of institutions, and to enhance self-reliance to reduce the need for foreign aid. With the thankful support of Arab countries and donors from friendly countries, a number of large infrastructure projects have been implemented, focused on various aspects of service, with special attention to rural and marginalized areas.

In the midst of this massive national project, we have been strengthening what we seeking to be the features of our State: from the preservation of security for the citizen and public order; to the promotion of judicial authority and rule of law; to strengthening the role of women via legislation, laws and participation; to ensuring the protection of public freedoms and strengthening the role of civil society institutions; to institutionalizing rules and regulations for ensuring accountability and transparency in the work of our Ministries and departments; to entrenching the pillars of democracy as the basis for the Palestinian political life.

When division struck the unity of our homeland, people and institutions, we were determined to adopt dialogue for restoration of our unity. We succeeded months ago in achieving national reconciliation and we hope that its implementation will be accelerated in the coming weeks. The core pillar of this reconciliation was to turn to the people through legislative and presidential elections within a year, because the State we want will be a State characterized by the rule of law, democratic exercise and protection of the freedoms and equality of all citizens without any discrimination and the transfer of power through the ballot box.

The reports issued recently by the United Nations, the World Bank, the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC) and the International Monetary Fund confirm and laud what has been accomplished, considering it a remarkable and unprecedented model. The consensus conclusion by the AHLC a few days ago here described what has been accomplished as a "remarkable international success story" and confirmed the readiness of the Palestinian people and their institutions for the immediate independence of the State of Palestine.

Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is no longer possible to redress the issue of the blockage of the horizon of the peace talks with the same means and methods that have been repeatedly tried and proven unsuccessful over the past years. The crisis is far too deep to be neglected, and what is more dangerous are attempts to simply circumvent it or postpone its explosion.

It is neither possible, nor practical, nor acceptable to return to conducting business as usual, as if everything is fine. It is futile to go into negotiations without clear parameters and in the absence of credibility and a specific timetable. Negotiations will be meaningless as long as the occupation army on the ground continues to entrench its occupation, instead of rolling it back, and continues to change the demography of our country in order to create a new basis on which to alter the borders.

Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen

It is a moment of truth and my people are waiting to hear the answer of the world. Will it allow Israel to continue its occupation, the only occupation in the world? Will it allow Israel to remain a State above the law and accountability? Will it allow Israel to continue rejecting the resolutions of the Security Council and the General Assembly of the United Nations and the International Court of Justice and the positions of the overwhelming majority of countries in the world?

Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

I come before you today from the Holy Land, the land of Palestine, the land of divine messages, ascension of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the birthplace of Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), to speak on behalf of the Palestinian people in the homeland and in the Diaspora, to say, after 63 years of suffering of an ongoing Nakba:

Enough. It is time for the Palestinian people to gain their freedom and independence.

The time has come to end the suffering and the plight of millions of Palestine refugees in the homeland and the Diaspora, to end their displacement and to realize their rights, some of them forced to take refuge more than once in different places of the world.

At a time when the Arab peoples affirm their quest for democracy - the Arab Spring - the time is now for the Palestinian Spring, the time for independence.

The time has come for our men, women and children to live normal lives, for them to be able to sleep without waiting for the worst that the next day will bring; for mothers to be assured that their children will return home without fear of suffering killing, arrest or humiliation; for students to be able to go to their schools and universities without checkpoints obstructing them.

The time has come for sick people to be able to reach hospitals normally, and for our farmers to be able to take care of their good land without fear of the occupation seizing the land and its water, which the wall prevents access to, or fear of the settlers, for whom settlements are being built on our land and who are uprooting and burning the olive trees that have existed for hundreds of years. The time has come for the thousands of prisoners to be released from the prisons to return to their families and their children to become a part of building their homeland, for the freedom of which they have sacrificed.

My people desire to exercise their right to enjoy a normal life like the rest of humanity.

They believe what the great poet Mahmoud Darwish said: Standing here, staying here, permanent here, eternal here, and we have one goal, one, one: to be.

Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen

We profoundly appreciate and value the positions of all States that have supported our struggle and our rights and recognized the State of Palestine following the Declaration of Independence in 1988, as well as the countries that have recently recognized the State of Palestine and those that have upgraded the level of Palestine's representation in their capitals. I also salute the Secretary-General, who said a few days ago that the Palestinian State should have been established years ago.

Be assured that this support for our people is more valuable to them than you can imagine, for it makes them feel that someone is listening to their narrative and that their tragedy and the horrors of Al-Nakba and the occupation, from which they have so suffered, are not being ignored. And, it reinforces their hope that stems from the belief that justice is possible in this in this world. The loss of hope is the most ferocious enemy of peace and despair is the strongest ally of extremism.

I say: The time has come for my courageous and proud people, after decades of
displacement and colonial occupation and ceaseless suffering, to live like other peoples of the earth, free in a sovereign and independent homeland.

Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen

I would like to inform you that, before delivering this statement, I, in my capacity as President of the State of Palestine and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, submitted to H.E. Mr. Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations, an application for the admission of Palestine on the basis of the 4 June 1967 borders, with AI-Quds AI-Sharif as its capital, as a full member of the United Nations.

I call upon Mr. Secretary-General to expedite transmittal of our request to the Security Council, and I call upon the distinguished members of the Security Council to vote in favor of our full membership. I also appeal to the States that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to do so.

Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen

The support of the countries of the world for our endeavor is a victory for truth, freedom, justice, law and international legitimacy, and it provides tremendous support for the peace option and enhances the chances of success of the negotiations.

Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen

Your support for the establishment of the State of Palestine and for its admission to the United Nations as a full member is the greatest contribution to peacemaking in the Holy Land.

I thank you.

Turkey vows to control Israel at sea

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/199303.html

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the country's navy will patrol the Mediterranean to prevent Israel from assaulting ships in the international waters.

"Israel will no longer be able to do what it wants in the Mediterranean and you'll be seeing Turkish warships in this sea," Erdogan said after a meeting with his Tunisian counterpart Beji Caid Essebsi, AFP reported.

The Turkish leader also reiterated Ankara's call on Israel to formally apologize for last year's deadly takeover of a Gaza-bound aid convoy.

On May 31, 2010, Israel navy commandos launched a deadly attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla while it was sailing in international wasters on a mission to break Tekl Aviv's siege on the Gaza Strip.

The strike left nine Turkish pro-Palestinian activists, including a Turkish-American teenager, killed and dozens of others wounded.

"Relations with Israel cannot normalize if Israel does not apologize over the flotilla attack, compensate the martyrs' families and lift the blockade of Gaza," the Turkish prime minister stated.

On September 8, Erdogan said Turkey had taken steps to stop the Israeli regime from unilaterally exploiting natural resources in the Mediterranean.

"Turkish warships, in the first place, are authorized to protect our ships that carry humanitarian aid to Gaza...From now on, we will not let these ships to be attacked by Israel, as what happened with the Freedom Flotilla," he said.

Tel Aviv has refused to apologize for the last May bloodshed, prompting Ankara to expel the Israeli ambassador and cut all bilateral military ties with Israel.

Turkey has also vowed to take action at the International Court of Justice in The Hague to challenge Tel Aviv's four-year siege of Gaza. The blockade has been preventing the flow of food, medicine, and other basic supplies into the impoverished coastal territory.

The Zionist Inquisition

By: Stewart Brennan

The Israeli Government, their Zionist Lobby groups, JDL, and IDF with their anti-semitic bark is the same BS that the French and Spanish Inquisitions used on the peoples of their time. Anyone who questions or opposes Israeli policy today becomes a heretic and an enemy of the Zionist state that conveniently uses the Jewish holocaust as a weapon and as a shield for its evil gains or intent. Anyone in the 911 truth movement will understand the accusations of  heresy by the 911 inquisition right away.

I am 100% against Zionism and Nazism. To me, both political views are one and the same because they use the tragedy of the people as a political face to achieve their Nation State agenda, and then become the inquisition when anyone opposes them. In reality they are nothing but cold blooded killers without empathy for life or for mankind. There is not one ounce of humanity in them.

When the Zionists are challenged on the siege of Gaza, the Illegal settlements in the West Bank, the piracy in international waters, the deliberate killing of peaceful protesters and humanitarian activists, or the aggressive wars on their neighbors, the Zionist’s hide behind the tragic events that befell the Jewish people of the past and use those past events as a justification to rape, pillage, and murder the people of Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt, and Syria.

What becomes immediately clear, and very disturbing, is when the lobby groups the Zionists have established within the western countries begin pushing funded politicians to sing in unison with the Zionist position. Quite often the whole act plays out in the US Congress, Parliament or the UN Security Council where Zionism uses the US veto as their ace in the hole for favor.

We will see this same scenario play out again on September 20th, 2011, when Palestine petitions the UN general assembly for recognition as a nation. We already know that the UN General Assembly will approve the Statehood of Palestine and that when it goes to the UN Security council, the USA will veto the motion. That is the democracy that the US and Israel boast about. To me that is dictatorship plain and simple.

The US is the biggest focal point of Billions of dollars worth in political campaign payoffs that are given in exchange for supporting Israel rather than the American people, and the same thing can be said about Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, and many other places the Zionists can steal allegence.

The standing governments in the West do not serve their citizens but the wishes of a brutal Zionist regime. Witness the fascist tactics seen at the Pittsburgh, and Toronto G20 protests and you can expect more brutality in the future as deep integration and security mixes with Israel’s. (Too late!! It's already in place!)

Western politicians and the security forces they unleash on the people should be brought up on charges of treason at the VERY LEAST. Especially those politicians that accept campaign contributions OR other means of bribery. To vote for anything where another country benifits is also treason. Any security chief that takes an oath to serve and protect their community and breaks that countries, constitution, or "Charter of Rights and Freedoms” should go to jail!

The democracy that Obama, Harper, and all the other puppets such as Cameron, and Sarkozy spew out when they talk about how great it is to live in freedom, are really talking about dictatorship. That sure isn’t MY view of democracy. Apparently my father and millions of others won a major war…for this? NO! I don’t thinks so!!

The illusion cast by these scumbags would disappear if we had a direct democracy where people could vote on ALL legislation. The reality is that the Zionist controlled corporations and banks fund all legislation for their own greedy gains. Just look at the laws passed and you know that the peoples representation is nowhere to be seen.

Politicians make decisions based on what the lobby groups push, which is based on what the Zionist elites want, and right now, that means supporting Israel at all costs regardless of the legalities or impacts on human life.

As a moral law abiding person that has empathy for life, I do NOT support a bunch of murderers and thieves that continue to ethnically cleanse the native people of Palestine. I do NOT support cold blooded killers, assassins, or War Criminals, and I do NOT support ANY government that caters to these Zionist evils and that includes the treasonous basterds in Ottawa who have been in complete support and active participants in the Zionist Inquisition!

Stand up for the people of Palestine and STOP your country from supporting the Zionist Regime in Israel. I am not against Jewish people, I am against Zionism and all its evil crimes! So, Obama, the US Congress, along with Stephen Harper and his Neocon scumbags, take your Zionist Inquisition and stuff it up your ass!!!

The Truth about 911 is Still Being Covered Up

UPDATED: 2016 March 23
Posted By: Stewart Brennan

As a student of history, I find that simply asking questions about 911 is met with the same over lord hatred that the Spanish or French inquisitions seem to have had in their day. The US government is not interested in the truth and sadly, nor is the US Mainstream media. To simply ask for all the evidence to be investigated causes an immediate backlash by the establishment to shout “heresy” and “conspiracy nut”. Well, I do not deal in conspiracy theories I deal in conspiracy FACT.

Some people would have you tied to a stake and burned for heresy at disbelieving the government’s story just for merely asking questions about an event that has launched 10 years of war, and continues to do so.

Empathy for all life is a principal element in the foundation of a human being. So to be without empathy for life is the very definition of evil, and that is what our establishment is, pure evil, because they have no empathy for life! Witness the millions they have slaughtered in the name of defense contracts and their refusal to allow a REAL 911 investigation to take place...to me they are the criminals and the ones responsible for 911!

On September 11th, 2001 there were over 3,000 people taken from this World and after that day millions more were killed because of the resulting US wars waged on Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, Nigeria, Libya, and soon they will push for war in Syria and Iran.

9/11 Fire Fighters - THREE Explosions After Plane Hit WTC

The Endless War policy launched after 911 has demonized the Muslim population because of a half assed investigation that did not allow the real evidence to be published. Had the truth been allowed to come out, we would not have descended into the pits of hell we now find ourselves in today.

There are so many inconsistencies and cover ups about 911 that to believe the official story should draw questions to that persons sanity, because the truth is right in front of everyone's face!...it is absolutely clear to me that 911 was staged by the US government and they had outside help with at least Israel and Saudi Arabia.

I want answers!! Including a full investigation into the van and people that were caught with traces of explosives in the van, who these people were, and why they were released? Who released them and on who's authority? Or how about the Israeli's who were caught dancing with joy as they filmed the WTC coming down why were they let go and sent back to Israel?... or how about all the witnesses including Police and firemen who heard multiple explosions, as they were in the buildings! How about WTC building 7 and it's freefall collapse? All the witnesses, all the video proof, how about the FN WTC owner "Larry Silverstein" who confessed on film and told the fire dept to "pull it" in reference to bringing WTC building 7 down? Don't you know that it takes MONTHS to set up a buildings demolition?...some of the REAL culprits were quickly ushered back to Israel and Saudi Arabia...how come?

9-11 Cop Who Arrested Dancing Israelis Speaks

History seems to repeat itself in the guise of violent insurrection of a nation, the creation and implementation of a totalitarian police state where the citizen's lose their rights and freedoms of free speech and political protest. The cycle has come for the American people and all the vassal nations controlled through their economic empire...all for a greedy few so that they may continue their domination over the masses. We want a REAL investigation that is independent from the government!!

Very Important Information regarding Palestine, The UN, and the future of mankind

September 20th, 2011 can be a step in the right direction and a day for Global Freedom.

September 20th, 2011 marks a day in which history will be written one way or the other. It is my hope that people will rise to this occasion and express their opinions based on moral human rights, respect and empathy for life. I ask you to share this video and stand with me in support of a FREE Palestine, a land that was divided in 2 by the United Nations in 1948.

The UN has broken its charter in many war theaters including the recent war crime in Libya. If the US government is allowed to Veto the motion that grants the recognition of a Palestinian state by the General UN assembly then the truth about democracy will have to be revisited and explained, for who would want to be a part of a World Body that dictates an agenda from special interests. That is NOT democracy.

Should a Veto occur on the Palestinian question of self determination and the right to exist, then the principals of the UN and the Charter will be null and void; in which case I will urge every peace loving nation to walk out and end this institution and rebuild one in its place that allows ALL nations to come to the table as equals. We are at a defining moment in history, where real action MUST be taken for our children’s, children’s future; think wisely because when your grandchildren ask you, “What did YOU do?” will you have an answer in tune with peace, love, and empathy, or one of ignorance?

Libyan Brother Leader Muammar Qaddafi Speech on September 8th, 2011

To our brave Libyan people that are resisting,

The land of Libya is your property and your right from the days of your grandfathers and great grandfathers.

Those that attempt to revoke it from you are foreign backed mercenaries, stray dogs, those foreigners that have resided in Libya for a long time, that attempt to take the land of your grandfathers away from you.

This is impossible. We will never leave the land of our grandfathers. Their families back then where spies for Italy, and now are spies for France and Britain. The same sons are following in the footsteps of their fathers and grandfathers, the steps of dishonor.

These rats and armed scum are examples of their grandfathers. Each one of them is a clone and a mock-up of traitor-ship. They are not Libyan.

Ask about any of those that are backed by NATO, that destroy Libyan infrastructure and kill Libyan children, and you will find that his grandfather and his dad where traitors. They carry the genes of traitors.

Do you think those who carry the genes of traitors from their grandparents and great grandparents are going to decide the fate of the Libyan people?

When they realize that the Libyan people have turned up the ratchet and have refused to accept them they revert to the dirty tricks of the villainous Arab TV channels and the gulf donkeys.

They ask them to come up with any lie to save them. They tell them we feel the earth tremble under our feet, and we feel the masses advance towards us, and that we will lose the ground that we have gained, please save us! with a lie or a rumor that will destroy the morale of the resistant Libyan people. That will destroy the morale of the sons of the Al-Fatah revolution.

They ask the villainous horns of lies to save them with a lie or two, a rumor here and there.

At the beginning they said he’s gone to Venezuela. It turned out to be a lie. Now they are fed up and they have said he has gone to Niger to destroy your morale and make you surrender.

This is an indication that they know that your morale and spirits are high.

The people in Tripoli are getting ready to destroy the rats and capture the mercenaries which are like a pack of weasels with no agreement among themselves. Their masters will abandon them soon, even their bomb supplies have been depleted nor do they have aircraft to fight with.

They think that NATO will stay forever in the skies. NATO will return defeated, whether it likes it or not, because its financial position does not allow it to continue with its air bombardments. They feel that they are on the battlefield alone.

They bring the horns of lies to rescue them by spreading rumors and lies such as Qaddafi has been injured, Qaddafi has fled, such and such has happened to Qaddafi. This means that they are facing a bottleneck and that their masters are going to desert them. That they will flip on one another.

The Libyan people in its “Million Man Marches” indicated its position to the world, these people are still alive. They have nothing to resort to now but psychological warfare to influence you. Do not be influenced by these psychological advertisements or lies. This should make you able to mock the weak enemy that is in front of you, a bunch of traitors and drunkards, a bunch of Islamists that have strayed from law and order that have no objective but to destroy the country.

They do nott even have a diplomatic or economic plan. They want to destroy the country. You saw what that the armed rebels did when they entered Tripoli. They looted it. They looted homes and stole the gold that belonged to the women.

Each individual ran back to his tribe with the stolen booty, laid down his weapons and claimed that he is victorious.

The Libyan people should not be silenced by such individuals. We should not leave our land to such menial cowards to steal the land of our grandfathers that are backed by the crusaders that are now looking back at their failed colonialist plot and are repeating their calculations. They will be left on the battlefield alone to resort to things that affect your morale the most.

The last thing from them was that we saw Qaddafi’s convey enter Niger. What nonsense. This is not the first time conveys have been seen in the area, from Mali, Chad and Algeria, entering and exiting the Sahara desert. It’s as if it is the first convey ever to enter Niger!

Be careful. Look to your homeland and stay determined against these lies and false propaganda.

Allahu Akbar to the front !

Harper says 'Islamicism' biggest threat to Canada

Quote of PM Stephen Harper from CBC article: “Prime Minister Stephen Harper says "The biggest security threat to Canada a decade after 9/11 is Islamic terrorism.”

Reply By: Stewart Brennan to Stephen Harper and his Gang of Fascists

The biggest threat to Canada is a fear-mongering Prime Minister with a majority government that represents special lobby groups who together believe in fear based fascism rather than human rights.

My father served this country in WW2 with The Royal Canadian Highland Black Watch Regiment (1st. Bn. Black Watch (RHR) of Canada), against the same kind of people that have usurped our great nation through their special interest groups with deep pockets.

If the majority of that generation were alive today, we would not be having this discussion, because the real threats to this nation, that are imbedded in hatred and masked in fear of other minorities, would never have been allowed to grow.

SHAME on the Canadian people that support these nation destroying animals and their lobby groups!! You have NO EMPATHY for LIFE!!!

Harpers support for the Ethnic cleansing in Palestine, the Brutal crackdown in Bahrain, the destruction of Libya, Yemen and Afghanistan stems from the same base that would steal our basic rights and freedoms by cloaked legislation by paranoid finger pointers that serve the interests of specific lobby groups.

Palestine will ask for recognition by the UN general assembly on Sept. 20th, can you guess what Stephen Harper will say? Even though the UN created Israel after WW2 in 1948 by dividing Palestine into 2 parts, the Palestinian part currently being ethnically cleansed by Israel, will still not be recognized because of similar lobby groups in the US and Canada that will push for a VETO in the Security Council. Morality dictates that Palestine should never have been divided up, let alone deny the native people of that country the right to exist!

Now we are being primed for legislation that will invade ALL Canadians privacy because of these same deep pocket lobby groups. We all know what happened at the Toronto G20 meeting to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and now they are pushing a fear factor to implement dictatorial powers that will demonize anyone that criticizes the government or their lobby groups…I’ll stand on my moral foundation of honesty, equality, respect, community and empathy any day over a fascist his lobby groups and his supporters. Our Country is divided now, how far are you willing to go?

'WTC-7 impossible to have fallen by fire'

The 47-story modern steel-framed WTC-7 was brought down by office fires?

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/197821.html

An unresolved mystery of 9/11 is the collapse of the World Trade Center building 7, hours after the collapse of WTC-1 and WTC-2, as it was never hit by a plane, Press TV's US Desk reports.

Scientists, architects and engineers all over the world have questioned the official version of how WTC-7 fell down, adding that these buildings are built to fight even the formidable forces of nature.

Based on claims by the US government, the 47-story modern steel-framed WTC-7 was brought down by office fires.

Shyam Sunder, the lead investigator at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) -- a state-run organization -- had said, “World Center 7 collapsed because of fire fueled by office furnishings.”

However, experts say that a building with a steel-frame never collapses after a few hours of fire.

“Fires have never before caused the collapse of any skyscraper. Even though there are numerous examples of much hotter, larger, and longer-lasting fires in these buildings,” says architect Richard Gage, the founder of AIA Architects.

Metallurgical engineer Kathy McGrade says, “You cannot generate enough heat to melt steel.”

According to witnesses, massive explosions were heard before WTC-7 collapsed.

NIST's official scenario resulting in the total collapse of the building is, as experts say, absolutely impossible.

All the columns needed to be severed at the same time in order for that structure to fall the way it did, based on what structural engineer Michael Donly says.

Although NIST rejected the possibility of any sort of controlled demolition, it refused to test the explosive residues, which could have documented the evidence of melted steel.

“The destruction of evidence was a criminal act itself. It was already being carted away and destroyed when the investigators got there,” says structural engineer Ronald Brookman.

Families of the victims demand that the cause of the collapse be investigated carefully because millions of people around the world, and not just scientists and engineers, want these unanswered questions answered.

'Bin Laden killing story inconsistent'

Russ Baker, US investigative journalist and founder of the nonprofit website WhoWhatWhy.com

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/197701.html

The official story publicized by the US on the raid that supposedly killed al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden contains many inconsistencies, a prominent journalist tells Press TV's US Desk.

“Things that simply make no sense, in that they contradict what the Obama White House originally told us about the raid. Almost nothing about this so-called official history actually makes any sense,” said Russ Baker, an award-winning investigative reporter and founder of WhoWhatWhy.com, on Sunday.

In his exclusive interview with Press TV, Baker questioned the authenticity of an article published by The New Yorker in early August, which detailed the May 1 raid against the compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where bin Laden had allegedly hidden.

Written by Nicholas Schmidle, the article is titled “Getting Bin Laden: What happened that night in Abbottabad,” and was published on August 8.

He said the article gives the impression that all the details of what took place was provided by the soldiers and the navy seals who conducted the raid, while its author was not even allowed to speak to any of the people who were actually present at the event.

The investigative journalist cast serious doubts on the American magazine's account, saying it seems as if The New Yorker was given the details by an official in the Obama administration while trying to create the impression that this was real information from the scene.

The official story of bin Laden's death caused by a US commando team raid has been seriously contested by many experts and officials alike.

A few days after the alleged incident, Iran's Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi pointed to the available “accurate information” which showed that former head of al-Qaeda had died of disease some time ago.

“If the US military and intelligence apparatus have really arrested or killed bin Laden, why don't they show him (his dead body)? Why have they thrown his corpse into the sea?” Moslehi asked.

Analysts have also raised serious questions as to why US officials did not allow for the application of a DNA test to officially confirm the identity of the corpse before its hasty burial.

Britain wars all based on lies

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/197799.html

The British government has participated or launched three wars in the last decade, all of which have been started based on a bunch of lies.

The UK government under Tony Blair lied to its people, when it joined the so-called “coalition of willing” more than 10 years ago to launch an invasion against Afghanistan in the aftermath of the September 11th, 2001 attacks on US soil.

The Blair government unleashed a huge media campaign to persuade Britons that the Taliban and al-Qaeda terrorists were definitely behind the 9/11 attacks.

The then government of Britain also used, as a pretext, the ideology of the extremist Wahabis to fool the British into believing that if those radicals behind 9/11 attacks were not stopped they would definitely launch a similar attack on British soil.

Wahhabism itself is a product of a British conspiracy, perpetrated to be applied for their own sinister purposes to destroy Islam during the 18th century.

Now, more than a decade after the invasion, doubts are emerging one after another about the motives behind the campaign, and the UK politicians are leading so-called peace negotiations with the Taliban to pull themselves out of the quagmire their predecessors have created for them.

Again in March 2003, the Blair government lied about the executed dictator of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, when he claimed that “We had to launch an attack on Iraq because its regime possesses weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) that could be activated within 45 minutes,” and that wasn't true either.

In fact, the West wanted to topple a regime it had fully supported in the 1980s, when Saddam's regime imposed an eight-year war against Iran.

The then Western leaders including the British were not happy with the Iraqi dictator anymore and they used WMDs as a pretext to justify a military intervention to topple his regime.

The real motives behind the war had nothing to do with WMDs but was all about US control of Iraq's oil resources and to strengthen their presence in the Middle East.

However, US president George W. Bush and British Prime minister Tony Blair needed a more compelling reason to win public support for going to war.

Blair and his government lied to the British public in order to wage a war against Iraq. In his statement to the British parliament, Tony Blair told four lies as follow:

First, he lied when he said: “Iraq has chemical and biological weapons” and that, “Saddam has continued to produce them”.

Secondly, he lied when he asserted that Iraq could deploy chemical and biological weapons in 45 minutes.

“He [Saddam] has existing and active military plans for the use of chemical and biological weapons, which could be activated within 45 minutes”, Blair said.

Thirdly, the former Prime Minister lied when he said “Iraq had attempted to buy uranium from Niger in Africa in order to produce a nuclear warhead”.

“In addition, we know Saddam has been trying to buy significant quantities of uranium from Africa”, Blair said.

And the forth lie was that Tony Blair did not say the intelligence assessment was that Iraq would only use chemical or biological weapons if attacked.

The current UK government and its allies unleashed a bombing campaign against crisis-hit Libya to enforce a UN Security Council resolution, which called for a no-fly zone over the North African country to protest its civilian population from being killed at the hands of its long-time dictator Muammar Qaddafi.

But, the UN mandate turned out to be a pre-planned plot to overthrow the regime of Gaddafi on the back of a popular uprising fuelled by discontent inside the country.

Now that the Gaddafi regime has been toppled, Britain and other western powers have unveiled bids to secure a slice of the oil prize in Libya with France saying it was "fair and logical" for preference to be given to those who first helped the revolutionaries.

Actually, British Prime Minister David Cameron lied to the British people, when he told the parliament that his government was attacking Libya out of humanitarian concerns.

The Libya invasion was a pre-written scenario to enforce regime change and to control the impoverished country's vast oil resources on the one hand, and, on the other hand, to steer the domestic political agenda in order to decieve the British public into believing that their government was acting as an international player.

But, the world's public opinion in general would never ever again accept the so-called Western humanitarian concerns as a good excuse for supporting evil objectives behind military interventions elsewhere around the globe.

'Bushehr plant to go on stream Monday'

Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi

Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has announced that the country's Bushehr nuclear plant will go on stream during a ceremony next week.

Ali Akbar Salehi told IRNA on Tuesday that the ceremony, to be attended by the Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko, is scheduled to take place on the coming Monday at Bushehr power plant.

The Iranian foreign minister said that in the world of Islam and among 57 Muslim nations, the Islamic Republic is the second country, after Pakistan, to develop a nuclear power plant.

Salehi stated, however, that capacity-wise, Iran is among the first top countries possessing nuclear power plants in the world of Islam.

“The two nuclear power plants of Pakistan combined supply 500 megawatts, while [Iran's] Bushehr nuclear plant has a 1000-megawatt capacity,” he pointed out.

The foreign minister also touched upon the experience that Iran has attained in putting the plant into operation, saying, “Iranian engineers have had the opportunity to pick up both the Western and Eastern technologies.”

The top Iranian diplomat further underscored Iran's self-sufficiency in nuclear technology and in different fields such as medical, industrial and agricultural usage.

Iran signed a deal with Russia in 1995, under which the plant was originally scheduled to be completed in 1999, but the completion of the project was repeatedly delayed. The nuclear power plant was finally finished with the help of Russia after three decades.

On August 17, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Fereydoun Abbasi announced a plan for the official inauguration of Bushehr nuclear power plant with full capacity of 1,000 megawatts in late November or early December.

Egypt forces attack football fans

Egyptian government forces have attacked football fans chanting slogans against ousted President Hosni Mubarak at a stadium in the capital Cairo.

Reports say scores of people were wounded during clashes between police and al-Ahli club fans late Tuesday after government forces tried to forcibly remove fans from the stadium, Reuters reported.

More than a dozen people were also arrested during the incident.

Egyptians attending the game were also chanting slogans against Mubarak's former interior minister Habib al-Adly.

Both Mubarak and al-Adly are on trial on charges of corruption and ordering the killing of hundreds of demonstrators during the popular revolution in Egypt that led to Mubarak's ouster.

Egypt's ex-president was ousted in February following weeks of anti-government protests in the North African nation that put an end to his three-decade rule.

Spaniards protest austerity measures

Thousands of Spaniards have launched rallies in the Spanish capital Madrid against their government's austerity measures, Press TV reported.

The three-day protest starting on Tuesday was initiated by Spain's two largest trade unions, the Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) as well as the Unio'n General de Trabajadores (UGT).

Tensions are running high as unions are battling a constitutional reform that consists of a controversial budget cap.

The protesters are now demanding a referendum before the Constitution is changed.

Possible clashes between protesters and security forces as well as traffic disruptions expected, as the protest organizers anticipate the rally to grow by Thursday.

Meanwhile, thousands of Italians have stated a general strike in the capital of Rome, protesting against their government's recently adopted austerity measures.

The strike is expected to disrupt public transportation, including train and bus services, and lead to the closure of some government offices.

Italian airline Alitalia has also announced that the action will force it to reduce the number of its domestic flights.

On Monday, Italian President Giorgio Napolitano called for swift action to reinforce the economic austerity plans while warning of clear signs that markets have lost confidence in Italy.

The strike comes as Berlusconi's popularity rating has plummeted to an all-time low.

Millions of Italians are set to go on a general strike in the capital Rome to protest fresh austerity measures adopted by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's government.

The day-long strike will be held against a 45.5-billion-euro package of spending cuts and tax hikes introduced by the Berlusconi administration.

The protest action has been called by CGIL, Italy's biggest trade union, which demands from Rome to take measures to protect public jobs and punish tax evaders, the BBC reported Tuesday.

The strike is expected to disrupt public transportation, including train and bus services, and lead to the closure of some government offices.

Italian airline Alitalia has also announced that the action will force it to reduce the number of its domestic flights.

The Italian parliament is due to vote for a controversial austerity package that was compiled in early August under pressures from Italy's eurozone partners and the European Central Bank (ECB).

On Monday, Italian President Giorgio Napolitano called for swift action to reinforce the economic austerity plans while warning of clear signs that markets have lost confidence in Italy.

The strike comes as Berlusconi's popularity rating has plummeted to an all-time low.

Italy's budget deficit currently stands at 3.8 percent of the country's GDP. The government introduced a 48-billion-euro austerity package in July to balance the budget.

However, analysts say the Italian government needs an additional 20-billion-euro cut in spending to achieve a balanced deficit by 2013.

'Qatari Emir survives assassination'

The Qatari Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, has reportedly survived an assassination attempt in Qatar's capital, Doha.

According to Egypt's al-Fajr newspaper, unknown gunmen attacked the Qatari Emir's motorcade near his palace on Monday.

The Egyptian newspaper said Sheikh Hamad has reportedly been injured in the attack and was taken to hospital, adding that eight of the Emir's bodyguards were killed in the incident.

Al-Fajr says a media blackout has been imposed on the incident with Qatari officials refusing to comment on the incident.

Meanwhile, Iranian Ambassador to Qatar Abdollah Sohrabi has denied Sheikh Hamad's assassination report, saying that the Emir is currently in the French capital, Paris.

Sheikh Hamad has ruled the Persian Gulf state since 1995. He came to power after deposing his father in a palace coup and was crowned on June 2000.

Asian stocks plunge on US job data

US Unemployment stands at 9.1 percent

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/197586.html

Asian stock markets have plummeted on Monday amid concerns of deteriorating global economic downturn in the wake of disappointing US job data.

Japan's Nikkei average skidded nearly 2 percent, while South Korea's KOSPI slipped 4.4 percent. Benchmarks in Singapore, India, Taiwan, and China were also down, Bloomberg reported.

Meanwhile, stock markets in Europe also took a nosedive at the start of trading on Monday. London's Footsie 100 Index dropped 1.6 percent at the open, while the DAX in Frankfurt tumbled by over 2 percent.

The dismal US jobs report sent the euro to its lowest level against the dollar in Asia as risk appetite was eroded by renewed worries over Greek debt crisis and fears of a possible recession in the US economy.

The US economy failed to add jobs last month for the first time in almost a year, raising the odds of a new recession and putting pressure on President Barack Obama and the Federal Reserve to revive a waning employment market.

Currently the unemployment rate in the United States stands at 9.2 percent, the worst level since President Ronald Reagan was in office in the 1980s.

Experts say that current policies are crippling job creation efforts and at the rate at which America has lost jobs, an employment recovery may take years to take effect.

'World economy in a new danger zone'

World Bank President Robert Zoellick

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/197596.html

The World Bank has warned that record-high food prices and the global economy have reached unsafe levels, pushing the world's most vulnerable people at risk.

"The world economy is entering a new danger zone this autumn," AFP quoted World Bank President Robert Zoellick as saying at a conference in Beijing on the future of China on Saturday.

The World Bank chief also called on the United States to “address its issues of debt, spending and tax reform to boost private sector growth and a stalled trade policy."

Zoellick went on to urge China to accelerate its structural reforms which cater more towards its export-driven economy, and is less reliant on its domestic consumption.

"China's structural challenges occur in a current international context of slowing growth and weakening confidence," Zoellick warned.

He added that China would face further challenges in the years ahead.

"In the next 15 to 20 years, China is well-positioned to join the ranks of the world's high income countries," the head of the World Bank stated, warning "That's a transition that only a handful of countries have made - and, sadly, many have failed".

Zoellick said in August that investors had lost confidence in the economic leadership of several countries, led by America's bitter Congress debate to raise its debt ceiling and avoid default.

The United States is almost 15,000 billion dollars in debt, and as the most indebted country of the world cannot pay off its debts.

The European Union has meanwhile spent much of the past 18 months trying to battle its own debt crisis and has so far provided huge funds to Greece, Ireland, and Portugal with hefty bailout packages.

ECB warns Italy over austerity plan

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/197378.html

The European Central Bank (ECB) has urged Italy to promptly implement austerity measures adopted earlier, amid worries over the country's credit worthiness.

"The ECB and euro system as a whole consider the measures announced by the government…extremely important in order to rapidly diminish the public deficit of Italy and improve the flexibility of the Italian economy," Reuters quoted ECB President Jean Claude Trichet as saying.

"It is essential that the targets announced to cut the deficit will be fully confirmed and implemented. This is absolutely decisive to consolidate and reinforce the quality and the credibility of the Italian strategy and its creditworthiness," he added.

Despite Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's austerity plan unveiled few weeks ago, the Italian government has failed to adopt the measures, believing that key measures such as a pension overhaul and a wealth tax should be scrapped.

The European Central Bank has so far spent EUR 41.6 billion on buying the Italian and Spanish bonds in an attempt to stop the downward pressure on their price.

Italy's Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said his government would urge the ECB to continue buying bonds for the country.

Italy's budget deficit currently stands at 3.8 percent of the country's GDP. The Italian government introduced a EUR 48-billion austerity package in July to balance its budget.

Earlier, Berlusconi promised to fast forward the plan and get the budget into balance by 2013.

So far, Greece, Ireland and Portugal have received bailout packages from the European Union. There are growing fears that Italy may be next in line to eclipse the previous bailouts and further undermine the Euro.

US Postal Service nears default

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/197536.html

The United States Postal Service, which has long lived on the financial edge, is on the brink of a default as it lacks cash to make its payments.

The agency may have to shut down entirely this winter if it’s not able to make a USD 5.5 billion payment, The New York Times reported.

Congress needs to take emergency action to stabilize the service's finances and prevent its collapse.

“Our situation is extremely serious,” the postmaster general, Patrick R. Donahoe, said in an interview. “If Congress doesn't act, we will default.”

This is while, the agency is considering cost-cutting measures including laying off 120,000 workers - nearly one-fifth of the agency's work force - to ease its deficit which will reach USD 9.2 billion this fiscal year.

The service needs congressional approval to overturn job protections and go ahead with its planned layoffs.

Powerful labor unions are angry with the move and have vowed to take action against it.

US nukes threaten international peace

Iran's Permanent Representative to the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Kazem Gharibabadi

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/197564.html

An Iranian official says the deployment of US nuclear weapons in Europe threatens the security and safety of host countries and endangers international peace.

The deployment of US nuclear weapons in the territory of some European countries violates the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), Iran's Permanent Representative to the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Kazem Gharibabadi said.

He made the remarks at the “4th Annual International Conference Nuclear Dilemmas: Present and Future” at The Hague.

Gharibabadi advised the Western countries to focus on real threats that endanger international peace and security, such as Israel's nuclear weapons, instead of creating false ones.

“It is surprising that in the sensitive region of Middle East, while Israel is not a party to any international disarmament or arms control treaties and has an arsenal of weapons of mass destruction including nuclear ones, it is immune to any criticism,” the Iranian official said.

Israel, widely believed to be the sole possessor of a nuclear arsenal in the Middle East with over 200 undeclared nuclear warheads, pursues the policy of "deliberate ambiguity" on its nuclear program.

Tel Aviv has rejected global demands to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and does not allow inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to observe its controversial nuclear program.

“How can the countries that advocate disarmament and the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons close their eyes to this obvious threat?” Gharibabadi pointed out.

He stressed the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities and said, “No evidence of the existence of a program to build nuclear weapons has been found in Iran.”

The US and its allies accuse Iran of developing a military nuclear program. In June 2009, the UN Security Council imposed a fourth round of sanctions against Iran's financial and military sectors under Western pressure.

Iranian officials have repeatedly refuted the allegations, arguing that as a signatory to the NPT and a member of the IAEA, Tehran has the right to use peaceful nuclear technology.

Libyan revolutionary leader to sue Britain

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/197521.html

A Libyan revolutionary leader has demanded an apology from the British officials as he announced plans to sue the government realizing Britain's role in his rendition.

Abdel Hakim Belhadj (also known as Abdullah al-Sadiq), the military commander who led the revolutionary forces into the Libyan capital Tripoli, was detained by the US's Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Malaysia in 2004 over the suspicions of having links to Al-Qaeda.

The American forces transferred Belhadj to Thailand for interrogation. Nonetheless, after the interrogation, they rendered Belhadj to Libya delivering him to Gaddafi, apparently, in exchange for information which Gaddafi's agents had given to them.

Gaddafi regime sent Belhadj to its notorious Abu Salim prison where he was tortured and imprisoned for seven years.

Secret documents found by emergencies director for Human Rights Watch, Peter Bouckaert, revealed Britain's complicity in the rendition plot that delivered Belhadj to Gaddafi.

Bouckaert discovered a memo entitled “for the urgent personal attention of Musa Kusa” in an office used by Libya's former head of external security, Musa Kusa. The memo was dated March 18, 2004 with the address being “London SE1.”

Belhadj, the head of Tripoli's military council who commands about 8000 revolutionary forces in Libya, has asserted that the British government betrayed him when he sought asylum through the British High Commission in Malaysia in 2004.

“His suffering is very difficult to forget and he deserves a clear apology from the US and UK ... He may one day take legal action,” said a spokesman for Belhadj.

The revelations come as leaked documents revealed the British government's close relationship with Gaddafi's regime to the extent that Britain provided the regime with information about anti-Gaddafi activists living in the UK.

As the coalition government officials try to distance themselves from the revelations, some political analysts have broached the fact that the intelligence and Foreign Office staff are still in post, therefore the government should respond to the allegations.
