The 2021 Showdown: The US, China, Peak Oil & the COVID Reset

By: Stewart Brennan

As we take in a deep breath and let out the last gasps of a tumultuous 2020, we find the world hanging by a thread over an economic cliff with the hell fire of poverty raging at our feet while an economic hurricane is on the horizon and heading straight at us with a dystopian reset [01].

If 2020 and the last 20 years wasn’t enough to wake you up, 2021 surely will because the tidal wave of insanity that has built up over the past two decades did not magically go away on December 31st 2020 and has not completely crested but appears ready to hit the bulk of humanity like a runaway freight train in 2021.

The occupants of this freight train have managed to convince the world that COVID-19 was a nasty virulent monster requiring draconian mask and lockdown measures to keep the public hiding in fear while shutting down our communities and destroying what was left of the economy that was not controlled by major corporate interests.

We will also have to prepare for the fallout of the November 3rd, 2020 US Presidential election which has also carried over to January 2021; where it appears that nationalist Donald Trump is about to leave office but hasn’t yet conceded to Globalist Joe Biden as Trump embarks on a last-ditch effort to have the fraudulent nature of the election exposed in an electoral college showdown on January 6th.

Adding to the confusion and on the horizon for spring 2021 is a possible market crash and a global economic reset which are being blamed on COVID-19 even though the economy was already bankrupt before the COVID shell game came into play in 2020. Growth of our economic system is fueled by “Oil” which has past peak and fallen off of the radar but is the most likely reason behind the globalists turning the annual flu (Influenza “A” & “B”) into a COVID-19 false pandemic using a fraudulent PCR test [02] to push the lockdowns which killed oil demand and massive amounts of capital.

These major events of the past, present and future will unload themselves on the global population in the 2021 Globalist economic games where we will find ourselves going from the frying pan, into the fire.

The Next US President

On January 6th, the Electoral College will meet to either certify the 2020 US election results or reject them. So, we will know soon enough who will be the next US President. However, regardless of the outcome, the United States has never been so ununited and polarly divided since their civil war (1861 to 1865) so the final result will certainly test the waters at how divided the American people are, with potential consequences down the road when the bottom drops out of the US economy.

Signs of Election Fraud in the 2020 US Presidential Election

2020 Unofficial Election Results

Donald Trump 74.2 Million votes with 232 Electoral Seats
Joe Biden 81.3 Million votes with 306 Electoral Seats

The voter turnout in 2020 is claimed to be 66.3% where supposedly, 155 million people at minimum voted for Trump or Biden. This number does not include spoiled ballots or votes for other candidates. So, if we ignore the unreported and do a bit of math, to find out the number of registered voters in 2020, we find it would be approximately 232.7 million people. That’s an increase of 75 million people registered to vote verses the 2016 official total of 157.6 million registered voters of the 245.5 million eligible voters in 2016. The number of eligible voters in 2020 were not available...

If we are to believe the 2020 election numbers on the World Population Review [03] website that said there were 213 million registered voters and go with the 66.3 % voter turn out by CNN then only 141.2 million people voted verses the 155 million claimed by mainstream media. So, if Donald Trump had 74 million votes, that would leave Joe Biden with only 67.7 million votes and zero for all other candidates.

These numbers by mainstream media simply don’t add up. Also, the number of registered voters in the 2020 election, based on the percentage provided by mainstream is unprecedented in US election history and more than just suspicious.

On the night of the 2020 election, Trump was winning soundly when I last looked at 12:30 am, a time when historically, the election winner was declared and called by the mainstream media...but in the wee morning hours of Nov. 4th 2020 a landslide of mail-ins had dramatically changed the results in favour of Joe Biden, with almost 100% of the votes going to Biden?

How do you verify an election with mail in ballots anyways? As with programmable electoral voting machines, mail ins leave no paper trail and leave the election open to be rigged as we saw in the Nov 3rd, 2020 US Election.

I’m extremely skeptical of the results of the 2020 US election and every American citizen should be very concerned as well about there being any chance of their elections being rigged as strong suspicions of voter fraud remain from the 2020 US Presidential Election with an elaborate cover up to hide the truth. How can Americans be sure an honest election will ever take place again? The only way, to prove that the Democrats have nothing to hide, is to investigate the claims of voter fraud and agree to postpone the election validation scheduled on Jan 6th, 2021.

If the Republicans turn on Donald Trump’s valid challenge of vote fraud and certify a potential fraudulent election then they are surly part and parcel to the globalists agenda to have Joe Biden installed as the next US President.

The Economic Picture in 2021

Cheap OIL Maintains Economies…and Financial Empires

A healthy economy requires a steady supply of cheap available oil, without it, the economy cannot grow. However, as most people should know by now, World Oil growth demand Peaked in 2008 when oil prices spiked to $147.00 per barrel, triggering the 2008 economic crash, and as this major economic crash continued into 2009, war on oil rich countries around the world began to escalate, while the economic cartel's think tanks were dreaming up new dystopian ways to maintain control of their economic system as it fell.

The Rockefeller Foundation Report from 2010 called - Scenarios for the Future of Technology and International Development [04] is a glaring example of this which was addressed as “A Global Business Network” or as I call them, a “Global Economic Cartel”

It’s important to note that from the Rockefeller Foundation Report, four scripts for the future of global economics were laid out, leaving one of them to be adopted. All four plans (Lock Step, Clever Together, Hack Attack, Smart Scramble) were recommendations without a specific choice mentioned. However, the cover of this report (See Colorized Photo Above) has a world map covered in binary digits (ones and zeros) with a bullseye pictured as moving water ripples from Northwest Africa to the rest of the world. To me, that was a tip off of their recommendation.

So, while the OECD countries struggled to deal with their crashing economies in 2008 - 2009, China came in and bought up companies of all sizes throughout North America while also gaining access to oil supplies throughout the world including western controlled resources such as Canada’s Tar Sands [05].

By late 2010 and early 2011, the Arab Spring was launched throughout the Middle East and North Africa to change the power dynamics and to wage covert wars to secure (steal) the oil and gas resources of the target countries. Direct military intervention by NATO into Libya [06] totally destroyed the country. Libya was the most prosperous oil rich country in Africa and it was utterly destroyed by US and NATO war crimes. Oil was what the global economic cartel were after.

The wars and conflicts that the US, UK and Europe have waged over the past 20 years throughout Asia, Africa and the Middle East have all been about oil, gas, pipe lines and the control of them. The era of "Past Peak oil" is here…(See here[07], here[08], here[09], and here[10])

However, globalist plans were interrupted in 2016 when Donald Trump won the US election. Trump placed himself as a nationalist who campaigned on slogans like, “Make America Great Again” and “Drain the Swamp”. The American people stood up for his nationalist views. Whereas, most of the politicians in Washington are Globalists in bed with the economic cartel and march to a different beat.

When Trump came to power after the 2016 election, the first thing he did was call out the mainstream media for what they are, “Fake News”. He then went after the globalist’s programs and canceled TPP and then changed NAFTA, (The North American Free Trade Agreement) and then waged an economic war with China with trade tariffs and sanctions. As everyone knows by now, China is where all the US, Canadian & European manufacturing jobs went.

The globalists want Trump out because his policies severely conflict with their economic plans for the world, which is why we’ve been witness to a never-ending display of insanity by mainstream media and the democratic party for the past 4 years…

The first thing to note about Donald Trump is that he is a business man, whereas most of the others (Democrats and Republicans) are career politicians. Trump is despised by most of them if not by all of them because, lets face it, Washington is a den of snakes as are the politicians that fill the capitals in every OECD country controlled by the Globalists.

I’m sure most will agree that politicians in general, throughout the OECD countries including the USA are controlled by economic interests with very deep pockets who all seem to profit on the misery of the global population. Economics is consolidated into fewer hands and so we have what I call, the Economic Cartel.

China’s Economic Growth

Over the years, the Chinese leadership pushed their enterprises for a minimum growth of 8% year on year. Since growth is exponential [11], we can use a simple math equation to see how long it would take to double the size of one’s economy.

[T2 = 70 / Percent Growth] T2 equals the doubling time; so, for an 8% annual growth, the time it takes to “DOUBLE” the size of your company or economy would be 8.75 years.

Over the time frame of 1991 to 2011, twenty years, China sustained its growth in the 9% and 10% range year on year with 10 years in double digits. Over the last ten years, 2011 to 2021, their growth rate slowed somewhat to approximately 6.5% annually but it was still much greater than US or European growth.

These massive growth requirements saw China go from insignificant on the global economic stage to the global leader in a very short period of time. These economic strides by China were not possible without the direct help of the western economic cartel. No one from the western economic cartel confronted China until Donald Trump came along and did so during his presidential term (2016-2020).

If we were to look at real GDP, by basing the calculations on production capacity and output, then China surpassed the US GDP in 2008.

Today, almost everything purchased in North America is made in China, and while North America and Europe spiral into exponential economic decay, China has grown exponentially and carries no significant debt. Yet the western economic cartel (the US, UK, the Commonwealth of countries, Europe and Japan) are in business with the Chinese state. They funded China’s growth and opened all the western markets to them.

Desperation

Desperation crept into the globalists plans in 2019 when Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election seemed likely even though their massive attempts to smear him failed to dissuade the majority of American people from voting for him.

So, the Globalists took matters into their own hands and unleashed a global plandemic which was adopted from the 2010 Rockefeller Foundations economic future plan of “Lock Step” and put into simulation on Oct 19th, 2019 at Event 201[12] hosted by the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, in partnership with the World Economic Forum, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation with very special guest, George FU Gao [13], the Director-General of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention; a Professor in the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences; President of the Chinese Society of Biotechnology; and President of the Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB) .

They turned the annual Influenza “A” & “B” into COVID-19 using a useless PCR test and then locked down the entire OECD world. The immediate result of lockdowns squashed oil demand while also driving the economy over the cliff.

To ensure the success of their COVID-19 plan the Globalists embarked on a massive censorship campaign all over the internet wherever important information showed itself and debunked the globalists COVID narrative. Mainstream media will not cover alternative views and so the important information by doctors and professionals was censored and kept from the majority of the population.

To ensure that Nationalist Donald Trump did not win the 2020 Presidential election, they used the excuse of the COVID plandemic as a reason to submit “Mail-in votes”. Millions of ballots were created and untraceable which of course can rig an election in their favour. It looks like they were successful.

I think if Trump was on the Globalists side, the cartel wouldn’t have screamed bloody murder day in day out for 4 years and then blatantly steal the US election when Trump was winning by a landslide…it shows that the globalist deep state or "economic cartel" was desperate to get rid of him.

What comes next?

It’s all about the future of economics and so even if Donald Trump is part of the Globalist gang, I do believe that Trump was trying to save part of the USA from the monster crash that is coming…

Totalitarian China rises as the Global technological leader with no debt, and they are revered as a model by the World economic forum and the Global Economic Cartel.

The USA, Europe and the rest of the World will not escape an economic depression without an oil supply that is cheap, abundant and readily available...the age of oil has come to an abrupt end because the point of peak that we are at now can no longer sustain consumer economic growth with a population that continues to grow while using finite resources.

Those in control of global economics, are not prepared to give up their hold on power, and so they would rather lead you to slaughter than tell you the truth.

If oil is directly responsible for the rise in human population, and it is, then it is also true that a decrease in oil will result in a decline of the human population. Everything we use in daily life is based on oil. A terminal decline in oil guarantees job losses, economic depression, global civilian unrest, war, famine and disease.

The COVID lockdown with unsafe mandatory vaccines and the coming Economic Reset is part and parcel to plans made to get rid of massive amounts of oil demand, capital and human population.

So, if we are to survive what’s to come in 2021, information is important as well as cooperation with each other. We cannot allow those in power to create and dictate draconian laws that treat us as worthless prisoners and cannon fodder, so we are going to have to stand up, take control and seriously redefine what really matters to us in life if we are to rebuild our communities and navigate the storm that is coming.

South Koreans clash with police over base

Protesters clash with police in South Korea during a rally against the construction of a new naval base on Jeju Island, September 2, 2011.

Protesters in South Korea have clashed with the country's riot police over the construction of a new naval base on the South Korean island of Jeju which will be open to US forces.

The protesters, who have occupied the site since June in order to prevent the construction, were joined by 300 activists and opposition party members who flew to the island, AFP reported.

Protesters allege that South Korea has bowed to pressure from the United States, which they say is eager to establish a military presence near China. Washington currently has nearly 28,500 troops in South Korea.

Damage to the environment is a concern of the protesters over the construction of the naval base as is the possibility of disputes with China over the American presence.

Police dispersed about 130 people on Friday and arrested 38 others. Protesters scuffled with the police, but no serious violence was reported.

After the police dispersed the crowd, engineers finished building a perimeter fence surrounding the construction site.

Local military officials say the USD 970-million project is vital for South Korea's national security.

Once completed in 2014, the base will host some 20 warships, including submarines.

Seoul started construction of the naval base in January near a village on the resort island's southern coast facing the South China Sea.

To date, about 14 percent of the construction has been completed.

North Korean leader in Russia for talks

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has arrived in Russia to hold talks with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on various issues.

The North Korean leader will spend about a week in Russia to discuss energy cooperation, de-nuclearization and tensions with South Korea with Medvedev, AFP reported on Saturday.

A North Korean government source added that Kim will meet and confer with Medvedev in Ulan-Ude near Lake Baikal in Siberia on Tuesday.

This is Kim's first visit to Russia after about a decade since his previous public trip in 2002.

On Friday, Russia's foreign ministry said that 50,000 tons of grain will be sent to North Korea by the end of September.

Kim has already visited China three times seeking ways to alleviate the effect of devastating floods as well as the US-led economic sanctions on his country.

North Korea has called for the unconditional resumption of six-party talks involving China, Japan, Russia, South Korea, North Korea and the United States over nuclear disarmament on the Korean peninsula.

Tensions have been running high on the Korean Peninsula since November 2010 when an exchange of artillery fire left four South Koreans dead on a border island.

The North accuses US President Barack Obama of plotting with regional allies to topple the country's government, insisting that its nuclear program is a deterrent against US forces in the region.

US, South Korea begin joint military drills

The US and South Korean militaries have launched their major military drills despite North Korea's warnings that the exercises could lead to an "all-out war.”

The 11-day Key Resolve/Foal Eagle drills are the first regularly scheduled joint drills between Seoul and Washington since a North Korean artillery barrage on Yeonpyeong Island on November 23, which left two South Korean marines and two civilians dead.

Pyongyang has denounced the drills as a provocative move and a pretext to invade North Korea, while the US and South Korean officials say the exercise is defensive in nature, AFP reported.

The exercises focus on raising the allies' ability to defend against small, sudden attacks by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), said the Combined Forces Command, adding that the drills are aimed at strengthening the allies' readiness against all potential threats.

However, the North's military on Sunday threatened to retaliate against the drills with a full-scale military attack that would turn Seoul into a "sea of fire.”

"If the aggressors launch provocation for a 'local war', the world will witness unprecedented all-out counteraction on the part of the army and people of the DPRK (North Korea)," the North Korean military said.

"It will also see such merciless counteraction as engulfing Seoul in sea of flames, whereby to smash every move for confrontation with unimaginable strategy and tactics."

A total of 12,300 US troops and some 200,000 service members, including reservists from South Korea, will participate in the joint military drills, according to officials.

In 2010, tension on the Korean Peninsula reached its highest level since the 1950s' Korean War.

On March 2, the 1,200-ton South Korean warship, Cheonan, sank near the inter-Korea maritime border, resulting in the deaths of 46 South Korean sailors.

Though Seoul accuses Pyongyang of involvement in the sinking of its warship, the latter rejects the claim.

US, China closer to trade war

The US dollar vs the Chinese Yuan

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/164515.html

US lawmakers say they are pushing for a legislation that would punish China for allegedly manipulating its currency.

The draft bill, which is to be submitted on Thursday, is to address what the US senators describe as the unlawful practice of currency manipulation, according to the AP.

Both Republican and Democratic senators had informed US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner about the draft bill a month ago.

Relations between Beijing and Washington have been strained over the issues of currency and trade.

Washington accuses Beijing of manipulating the value of the Yuan to help boost Chinese exports.

Their bill, which could lead to counteract duties on Chinese exports, revives one that cleared the House of Representatives by a 348-79 vote in September but was stalled in the Senate.

China states that it will allow Yuan to gain value at a measured pace.

US Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, however, voiced one of Washington's key complaints against China on Wednesday and claimed Beijing would be better off letting the Yuan appreciate by loosening its tie to the dollar.

"The Renminbi is undervalued," Bernanke told a hearing of the House of Representatives budget committee. Renminbi is the official term for the Yuan.

"It would be both in our interest and in the Chinese interest for them to raise the value of their currency. And it would help them with their inflation problem," he said.

Bernanke went on to openly fault Chinese financial policy makers and suggesting that they do not take China's interests into consideration.

"One of the things that's happening, which is a little surprising in a way, is that they have an inflation problem, and the way they are addressing it is not by raising their currency value, which would reduce the demand for their exports," added the US official.

"A better strategy would be to let domestic demand be what it is and let people enjoy higher standards of living," he claimed.

His comments represent a rare criticism of another central bank's policies by a central bank.

Beijing's third straight interest rate rise in four months was aimed at slowing down inflation in what some economists have described as an overheating economy growing at a 10-percent rate annually.

North, South Korea agree to hold talks

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/162346.html

North and South Koreans are meeting "to seek ways to move forward together as a people while overcoming the grave situation which has divided them."

A group called the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland sought dialogue between Pyongyang and Seoul, influencing North Korea to make the first contact with its southern neighbor.

South Koreans have accepted the invitation and are expected to meet their Northern counterparts on February 11th.

The initial meeting is designed to set the time and agenda for high-level military dialogue between the two Asian countries.

Tensions between the North and South escalated when on November 23rd a South Korean island was bombed, killing four people, including two civilians.

Last March, Seoul accused Pyongyang of torpedoing a warship, killing 46 people on board, a charge which the North denies.

South Korea set a precondition for any high-level meeting in that North Korea would need to take “responsible measures” over last year's attack and vow not to repeat them.

US and Japan have expressed their interest in the talks with hopes of a denuclearized Korean Peninsula, and later broadening multi-nation dialogue toward economic prosperity in the region.

“We've always stressed the importance of North-South dialogue as the necessary beginning of this process. So, I hope that the North takes advantage of this opportunity and demonstrates its sincerity," US Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg said.

Japan's Foreign Minister Seiji Maehara also pointed out that it is vital for the Seoul and Pyongyang to enter the dialogue.

"I believe that what is most important is that the North-South dialogue be opened up and also that in the tri-partite foreign ministers' meeting with regard to the 6-party talks and that the Chinese have been calling for, we would not reject that,” Maehara said.

US prodding China over Iran sanctions

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/161032.html

Washington is putting more pressure on Beijing in an attempt to enforce unilateral sanctions imposed on Iran by the United States and the European Union.

"They [Chinese officials] did not agree to either European, American… sanctions that were imposed unilaterally [on Iran]," US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in an interview with ABC television on Wednesday.

The top US diplomat also expressed her country's dissatisfaction with China over failing to comply fully with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) sanctions.

"We think that there are some entities within China that we have brought to the attention of the Chinese leadership that are still not as, shall we say, as in compliance as we would like them to be," she went on to say.

"And we are pushing very hard on that and we may be proposing more unilateral sanctions," Clinton pointed out.

She made the remarks as Chinese President Hu Jintao is in the United States to hold talks with US President Barack Obama and other top American officials.

On Tuesday, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad downplayed the sanctions and said the Islamic Republic is making progress on its nuclear energy and the Western states are only issuing resolutions.

He was referring to US-sponsored resolutions adopted by the UNSC as well as unilateral measures adopted by the US and the EU with the aim of hindering Iran's peaceful nuclear program.

The United States and its allies accuse Iran of following a military nuclear program, but the Islamic Republic has repeatedly refuted the baseless charges.

Under Western pressure, the UNSC imposed a fourth round of sanctions against Iran's financial and military sectors in June.

Tehran argues that as a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the country has the right to use peaceful nuclear energy.

Meanwhile, former head of the IAEA Mohamed ElBaradei said on Tuesday that Western countries are "hyping" concerns over Iran's nuclear program.

China: No plans to send troops to North

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/160530.html

China has denied reports that it plans to deploy troops in North Korea, saying Beijing will not send “a single soldier” to any country without the consent of the United Nations.

Beijing dismissed reports that it is in talks with Pyongyang on stationing Chinese troops over the border in South Korea, reported channelnewsasia.com.

"China will not send a single soldier to other countries without the approval of the UN," an official at the Chinese Defense Ministry, who refused to be named, was quoted as saying.

A South Korean newspaper on Saturday cited an official at the presidential Blue House as saying that Beijing and Pyongyang had discussed details of stationing Chinese soldiers in the North's city of Rason.

The anonymous official said the soldiers would protect China's port facilities in the city, and a senior security official was quoted as saying it would also allow China to intervene in case of North Korean instability.

Chinese troops have not been based in the North since 1994, when Beijing withdrew from the Military Armistice Commission that supervises the truce which ended the 1950-53 Korean War.

The Chinese Defense Ministry official said there were only a few conditions under which Chinese troops could be stationed abroad, such as peacekeeping missions and disaster rescue efforts approved by the United Nations.

China to send troops to North Korea: Report

Chinese troops

Source: Press TV

China and North Korea are reportedly discussing details of a plan allowing Chinese army forces to be deployed in the communist country for the first time in about two decades.

Citing an anonymous official at the presidential Blue House, the South Korean Chosun Ilbo newspaper reported on Saturday that the troops “would protect Chinese port facilities” in the Rason special economic zone near the Sea of Japan (East Sea).

"North Korea and China have discussed the issue of stationing a small number of Chinese troops to protect China-invested port facilities," the unnamed official told the newspaper.

"The presence of Chinese troops is apparently to guard facilities and protect Chinese nationals," the official added.

In 2008, Beijing was reportedly allowed to use a pier at Rason to secure its access to the Sea of Japan.

The Chinese troops, supervising a truce between the two Koreas after the 1950-53 Korean War, withdrew from the North in 1994.

Some officials believe the presence of troops will allow China to intervene in case of any instability in North Korea.

"The worst scenario China wants to avoid is a possibly chaotic situation in its northeastern provinces, which might be created by massive inflows of North Korean refugees," Seoul's International Security Ambassador Nam Joo-Hong was quoted as saying.

"Its troops stationed in Rason would facilitate China's intervention in case of contingencies in the North," he added.

The development comes amid strained relations between Seoul and Pyongyang caused by the exchange of deadly artillery fire on a border island in late November.

The United States and South Korea also recently staged a series of joint military maneuvers, which the North condemned as provocative and warned they could push the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war.

China allays US fears over stealth jet

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/159696.html

China has told the visiting US defense secretary that a maiden test-flight of its first home-built prototype stealth fighter was not a show of muscle against Washington.

The test flight comes on the second day of US Defense Secretary Robert Gates' visit to China aimed at mending frayed military ties between the two sides.

Gates said Chinese President Hu Jintao has told him during a meeting that the flight was not timed to coincide with his visit.

"I asked President Hu about it directly, and he said that the test had absolutely nothing to do with my visit and had been a pre-planned test,” Gates told reporters.

Chinese media reported that the J-20 flew for about 15 minutes over an airfield in the country's southwest.

Ahead of his arrival in China, Gates had warned that Washington would respond to Beijing's development of a new stealth aircraft.

Defense analysts say the flight can eventually help end the US military dominance in the troubled region.

Gates has sought to resume military exchanges with China amid rising tensions between the two countries over a range of issues.

The developments come as senior officials in Beijing have strongly condemned the several rounds of joint US-South Korea naval war games recently conducted close to Chinese waters.

China says the drills were a fresh provocation "to China and its surrounding.”

Moreover, China has reduced its military cooperation with the Pentagon over the USD 6.4 billion US arms sales to Taiwan. China considers the island as part of its territory.

Reports say China is also building game-changing aircraft carriers, stealth jet fighters and advanced weapons that can pave the way for ending the dominance of the United States at sea.

China economic growth worries US

China 's President Hu Jin Tao is to visit US President Barack Obama next week

The United States has expressed concern over China's economic policies and called on the Chinese government to distance itself from an export-based economic growth.

The US wants a “real demonstrative commitment” from China to accelerate the rise of its currency, yuan, and to shift the focus of its economy from the outside to the inside, and thus increase domestic demand and rebalance the economy, Reuters quoted a US official as saying on Tuesday.

"It's both the pace in which they do it and the conviction with which they demonstrate they're going to do it," the senior Obama administration official went on to say.

Currency strategists maintain that China is gradually giving up the firm grip and the control of trading in order to internationalize yuan and this strategy is essential for easing the capital control and the reform of foreign exchange.

China, however, has blamed the United States for the trade gap and the imbalances and has called on Washington to take action to resolve its fiscal house problem to prevent the world economy from further instability.

The remarks come just days ahead of Chinese President Hu Jin Tao's official visit to the United States during which economic as well as military issues will be the highlight of the negotiations.

China has reportedly tested a new Stealth jet known as J-20 that very much resembles the American Stealth version of the aircraft.

Chinese media reported that the J-20 flew for about 15 minutes over an airfield in the country's southwest on Tuesday.

Several new photos of the Chinese Stealth aircraft have already been published on the Internet.

China's aviation tests take place while the US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates is on the second day of his visit to China.

Gates who had postponed his visit to China several times in the past eventually paid a visit to the country.

Ahead of his arrival in China, Gates had warned that Washington would respond to Beijing's development of a new stealth aircraft.

Military observers believe that the Chinese Stealth fighter will not be used in its army before 2017.

However, China's access to the high technology of building J-20 can considerably increase that country's military capabilities. The technical specifications of the plane are quite similar to those of the US F-22 fighter aircraft.

A Chinese military official recently said that China will deploy its new J-20 Stealth plane during 2017-2019.

China's military budget has increased considerably in recent years. According to official figures, the country's defense budget is about $70 billion.

Chinese President Hu Jintao will visit the US next week, concurrent with the upcoming tour of China by Gates.

US military budget plummets down

US Defense Secretary Robert Gates has declared cuts of 78 billion dollars in US military programs, adding that the country faces a "dire" financial situation.

Robert Gates, after negotiations with the White House, said that a slower pace of growth in defense budgets over the next five years will follow the new cuts and other measures, AFP reported on Thursday.

The proposed defense budget for fiscal year 2012 will rise to 553 billion dollars, which is a modest rate of three percent, yet future budgets will gradually be cut down to zero real growth in 2015 and 2016, Gates said in a news conference.

The cuts will mean reducing the size of the Army and the Marine Corps in 2015-16, with the Army dropping its force by 27,000 troops and the Marines by 15-20,000, he added.

Despite his will against the budget cuts, the Pentagon chief argues that the US “dire fiscal situation and the threat it poses to American influence and credibility around the world will only get worse unless the US government gets its finances in order."

Gates had previously hoped to keep away from any cuts that straightforwardly affected the fighting force but in the end has been obliged to propose lessening the size of the Army and Marines.

Seoul rejects Pyongyang's talks offer

South Korea warns of a strong response to any form of military aggression from the North

South Korea has rejected a North Korean call for unconditional talks to ease tension on the Korean Peninsula, saying the offer was "propaganda."

"North Korea previously issued statements like this early in the year ... they are normally done as part of (a) propaganda campaign towards the South," a Unification Ministry official willing not to be identified said Thursday, Reuters reported.

Pyongyang's offer for talks was considered an empty gesture. "We do not consider this as a serious proposal for dialogue. It is not even in the correct and appropriate format," the informed official added.

Earlier on Wednesday, North Korea announced that it was ready for an "unconditional and early opening of talks" with the South amid high tension on the peninsula.

The North's call for talks comes after the United States met Chinese and South Korean officials for talks about how to calm the Korean Peninsula.

Tensions have been high between the two Koreas since a deadly artillery exchange on an island last November.

Pyongyang said it shelled the area as a result of provocations by Seoul. South demands an apology after North Korea's deadly shelling of the island.

The crisis further deepened over rounds of joint military drills South Korea held with the United States despite threats of retaliation from Pyongyang.

Seoul's Defense Ministry says North Korea has boosted its special forces and deployed huge artillery guns and a new kind of tank close to the heavily fortified border.

“Threats from North Korea's asymmetric warfare capabilities - such as special forces, artillery pieces and weapons of mass destruction - have been on a steady rise since 2008,” South Korea's Deputy Defense Minister Chang Kwang Il was quoted as saying by the Yonhap news agency.

The biennial report by the ministry signals that the North's military threat has expanded as it has an unspecified number of new powerful tanks prowling the border with the South.

Nearly 13,600 long-range artillery guns have been deployed along the Demilitarized Zone and are reportedly ready to launch attacks on Seoul, the report noted.

With a population of more than 10 million, Seoul is 30 kilometers away from the border.

According to the report, the North has also added 20,000 soldiers to its 18,000 special forces over the past two years.

Seoul claims the contingent of 200,000 special forces are trained to infiltrate into the South to carry out assassinations and disrupt sensitive facilities.

The report further added that the North intends to rely on its nuclear program as a counterweight to South Korea's high-tech military.

The news comes at a time tension is high between the two neighbors following an artillery fire exchange which left four Southerners dead last month.

China cuts export quota on rare earth

China has announced sharp cuts in export quotas for rare earth minerals in the first half of the coming year, raising concerns about its trade ties with major partners.

The metal supplies, vitally needed for making a wide range of high-tech and clean technology products as well as other goods, will decline by 11 percent in 2011, in addition to the 40-percent drop in exports in 2010.

China's Commerce Ministry allotted 14,446 tons of quotas to 31 companies, 11.4 percent less than the 16,304 tons it allocated to 22 companies in the first half of 2010.

China produces around 97 percent of the rare earth elements in the global market.

The announcement, made on Tuesday, will affect the country's trade relations with the United States, the European Union and Japan and has brought about concerns in Washington.

"We are very concerned about China's export restraints on rare earth materials. We have raised our concerns with China and we are continuing to work closely on the issue with stakeholders," Reuters quoted US Trade Representative spokeswoman as saying.

The Trade Representative's Office has said the US could make a complaint to the World Trade Organization if China resumes the export limitations on rare earth minerals.

China says the cuts are based on environmental policies and that ensuring supplies to Chinese clean energy companies is their priority.

Next month's talks between Chinese President Hu Jintao and his American counterpart Barrack Obama are viewed as a vital event in restoring stability in their trade ties.

South Korea urges talks to disarm North Korea

South Korea has adopted a softer tone on North Korea's nuclear issue, calling for a revival of international talks with Pyongyang to shut down its nuclear program.

"(We) have no choice but to resolve the problem of dismantling North Korea's nuclear program diplomatically through the six-party talks," South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak said as he received a 2011 policy report from the foreign ministry on Wednesday, AFP reported.

Tensions have been high on the Korean Peninsula after a November 23 artillery fire exchange which left four South Koreans, including two civilians, dead. The incident turned many heads as it became the first shelling of a civilian area in the South since the 1950-53 Korean War.

The crisis further deepened over rounds of joint military drills South Korea held with the United States despite threats of retaliation from Pyongyang.

While the North backed down on its threats in a change of tone, Russia and China are making efforts to resume talks with the North to further ease high tensions.

A US diplomat who visited Pyongyang this month said the North had agreed with the return of UN nuclear inspectors and to dispose of fuel rods outside the country.

Lee on Wednesday said the international community is pressed for time to denuclearize the North, which has set the 100th anniversary of founder Kim Il-Sung's birth in 2012 as the year to become a "great, powerful and prosperous" nation.

Therefore, we "should certainly achieve the dismantlement of its nuclear program next year," he insisted.

The North shut down its elderly plutonium-producing reactor in 2007 under a disarmament deal reached in six-party talks which involved the two Koreas, China, Russia, Japan and the US. The talks failed in April 2009 following new inter-Korean tensions.

In October, Pyongyang unveiled a uranium enrichment plant which US officials claimed could easily be converted to produce weapons-grade uranium. But North Korea says its new plant is solely aimed at fueling a light-water reactor being built to produce energy.

South Korean President urges national unity

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak has called for national unity and solidarity in the face of military threat from North Korea.

Lee said in a national radio address on Monday that division in the country would give the North another chance to attack, thus endangering the lives of South Korean people.

"We can't afford to have division of you against me in the face of national security, because what's at stake is our very lives and the survival of this nation," Reuters quoted Lee as saying.

"It is when we show solidarity as one that the North dares not challenge us. Their will to challenge breaks," he added.

Lee put an end to the decade-long free economic help given to the impoverished North as he took office in 2008.

However, he has come under severe criticism for indecisiveness and the military's soft reaction to North's artillery attack last month.

Tensions climbed in the Korean Peninsula after North Korea shelled South Korean Yeonpyeong Island on November 23, killing four people.

The North, however, insists that its shelling was in response to a military drill by the South.

South Korea to hold naval firing drills

South Korea plans to hold a fresh round of naval firing drills at 23 locations around the Korean Peninsula, excluding areas near the disputed sea border with North Korea.

"This is part of a regular practice involving army, naval and air forces... and the state-run Agency for Defense Development will also conduct ammunition tests off the west coast," a spokesman for the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff told AFP on Sunday.

The drills will be held around the Korean peninsula from December 27 to 31, the report added.

Last week, the South staged a live-fire artillery exercise on Yeonpyeong Island, lasting about two hours.

The maneuvers at a firing range in Pocheon, around 30 km from the inter-Korean border, involved more than 100 types of weapons.

Thursday also saw the second day of a three-day firing exercise by the South Korean navy in the Sea of Japan to the east of the peninsula, about 100 km south of the maritime border with North Korea.

The North did not retaliate despite earlier warnings.

In November, an artillery exchange between the two neighbors left four South Koreans dead on a border Island.
