New Canadian $20.00 Dollar Bill is a reminder of foreign Ownership

Video Source: Press TV

Opinion By: Stewart Brennan

The changes made to the new Canadian Twenty Dollar Bill ($20.00) proves itself to be another example of a stab by the Harper Government directly at the First Nations People of this country. It is also perceived as an imperial statement to glorify war. The new 20 which is the most common note used throughout Canada, leaves the Impression of subservience. It’s a real kick in the teeth to anyone that believes Canada is a free and Independent nation.

In my opinion, the new Canadian $20.00 dollar bill drives home the fact that Canada is not an independent nation but one that is still controlled by Britain. To further bring this point home, witness the recent actions and statement of British Foreign Secretary William Hague where he announced that Britain and Canada were to clinch an agreement to establish joint diplomatic missions in other states in a bid to cut costs. Hague also said that, “the new partnership will give “BRITAIN" a bigger reach abroad for less cost”. (1)

Another revealing statement was made last year in 2011 by British Premier David Cameron where he said, “We are two nations, but under one Queen and united by one set of values”. (2) What set of values was he talking about? Was it the position that both countries were aligned in past military conflicts or is it Canada’s present day change from peacekeepers to one of military aggression with the UK? Cameron’s statement is also perceived as an arrogant reminder that we do not have complete independence from Britain politically, or monetarily and since Canadian money is “BORROWED” with an added interest by the Bank of Canada for the Government of Canada (3), Cameron is telling Canadians flat out that we are subservient to their crumbling empire.

The NEW Canadian 20 dollar Bill

The New twenty dollar bill boldly shows the WWI Vimy Ridge memorial, which does not rest in Canada, but in France. The WW I memorial was unveiled by British Monarch “King Edward VIII in 1936 when Canada still flew a colonial flag. Following an extensive multi-year restoration, Queen Elizabet II rededicated the memorial on April 9th, 2007 when Canada had its own flag.(4) The figurehead, “Queen Elizabeth II” is placed smack in the Middle of this new 20 dollar bill in a sea of sickly coloured lime green.

What really stands out is how European the new note is with no traces of Canada or the people of this Country. Removing the Indigenous Art is like removing the heart and soul of this nation for an Imperial standard of the old Roman Empire…it sure feels that way.

If one was to travel the unofficial threads of history, by tracing the money trail of the European Royal families back to the ruling elite and Patrician class of the Roman Empire, one could also draw the conclusion that World War I was the final war to end all wars between these self imposed Monarchies and rulers of men. A winner take all won by an elite that quickly claimed all spoils of war for their own, including the people as their subjects. I don’t like the new Canadian twenty dollar bill because it does not reflect Canada, it reflects British Rule.

British Prime Minister David Cameron has warned the Greek people that they should leave the euro zone if they vote for anti-austerity left-wingers.

Speaking of a new legislative election in Greece which is to be held on 17 June 2012, Cameron said Greece’s new round of elections must be a referendum on whether the country should stay in the euro zone, reported The Sun.

“Greece is going to vote - it has to be absolutely clear there is a choice,” said Cameron.

“They can vote to stay in the eurozone and meet their commitments or they can vote to give up on their commitments and in effect give up on the eurozone. This must be a moment of decisiveness,” he added.

The new legislative election is to be held after a coalition government was unable to be formed in Greece following the election in May.

The Sun described Cameron’s message as “the toughest language yet from any EU leader.” Cameron’s tough warning came as British Secretary of State for Justice said the wrong Greek vote could hit Britain hard and the UK is “heavily exposed” to potential problems.

Italy's court rejects PM immunity law

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi

Italy's top court has partially rejected a law that extended criminal prosecution immunity to Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi while he is in office.

The decision by the Constitutional Court on Thursday allows individual judges to decide whether Berlusconi can be forced to face trial or not.

The judges can decide whether or not to accept excuses by the prime minister or members of his cabinet that they are unable to attend trials due to conflicts with official duties.

Berlusconi will no longer be able to automatically invoke a "legitimate impediment" claim exempting him and his ministers from appearing in court.

“The court's sentence has complicated things,” a parliamentarian in Berlusconi's People of Liberty party, Osvaldo Napoli, was quoted by Bloomberg as saying in response to the new law.

“It has turned over to the subjective evaluation of judges, facts and issues that should have been cleared up with the strength of objectivity,” he added.

A Milan court, which has accused Berlusconi of paying USD 600,000 to a UK lawyer to lie under oath, now presents the greatest legal challenge to the prime minister.

In February 2009, the lawyer, David Mills, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for accepting a bribe from Berlusconi.

Dubai: Israeli premier faces arrest

The head of the Dubai police is planning to seek the arrest of the prime minister of Israel and the head of the country's secret service, Mossad, over the killing of a Hamas leader.

Dhahi Khalfan Tamim told Al Jazeera he would ask the Dubai prosecutor to issue arrest warrants for Binyamin Netanyahu and Meir Dagan this week.

Tamim said he was "almost certain" Israeli agents were involved in the killing of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, a Hamas commander, at a Dubai hotel in January.

Israel has has neither confirmed nor denied involvement in al-Mabhouh's murder.

The police chief said Mossad had "insulted" Dubai and Western countries whose fraudulent passports were used by suspects in the assassination.

Investigation expanding

And a UAE newspaper reported that Dubai had also asked the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to look into prepaid credit cardsissued by the Meta Financial Group's MetaBank which the suspects used.

Citing an FBI source, The National newspaper said the investigation would look into any Israeli involvement in the killing.

Quoting Dubai police, the newspaper said: "Thirteen of the 27 suspects used prepaid MasterCards issued by MetaBank, a regional American bank, to purchase plane tickets and book hotel rooms."

MetaBank said it followed proper procedures when it issued the cards.

Authorities told the bank that the suspects appeared to have used stolen passports to get employment with US companies, MetaBank said in a statement on Tuesday.

Dubai police have published details of 26 suspects together with passport photographs, and claim to have DNA evidence of the identity of at least one of the killers.

As a consequence of the assassination, UAE officials say they will prevent Israeli citizens travelling on foreign passports from entering the country.

Dubai police last Sunday issued a statement saying the "killers used the drug succinylcholine to sedate al-Mabhouh before they suffocated him" and that "assassins used this method so that it would seem that his death was natural".

Al-Mabhouh's killing has led investigators to Britain, Ireland, Australia and Germany - countries whose passports the assassins allegedly used.
