Premier Wen meets Pakistani PM, reaffirming enduring friendship

Premier Wen Jiabao has hosted a welcome ceremony for his visiting Pakistani counterpart, Yousuf Raza Gilani, reaffirming the enduring friendship between the two countries.

Gilani arrives in Beijing following one day in Shanghai. His four-day visit, at the invitation of Premier Wen Jiabao, will allow the two sides to exchange views on deepening bilateral relations and promote cooperation in many areas of common concern.

During the visit, Wen and Gilani will witness the signing of a number of agreements relating to trade, finance and culture. They will also attend a reception to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. Gilani is also scheduled to meet and hold talks with president Hu Jintao.
