Turks have held anti-US demonstrations in Antalya, protesting at the berthing of an American aircraft-carrier in the Mediterranean off the southern city.
The rallies were launched on Wednesday, when the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower entered the coast, lasting, according to local outlets, through Thursday, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported.
Local authorities said the 305-meter-long vessel is carrying 5,000 personnel and would depart from the city on Friday. Its next port of call is yet to be known.
The participants shouted "America get out of Turkey" and "we do not want the criminal US in our country."
Some protesters reportedly pelted the servicemen with eggs.
The developments followed Washington's refusal to condemn Israel's recent bloodshed in international waters of nine Turkish activists on board an Ankara-backed humanitarian convoy.
