Israeli troops have injured two Palestinian photographers covering protests against the construction of Israel's apartheid wall in the occupied West Bank.
They also attacked the demonstrators, injuring a total of 16 people, some seriously.
Among those seriously injured were two Palestinian news photographers who were covering the protest near the southern West Bank town of Beit Umar, outside of al-Khalil (Hebron).
One of the photographers was hit in the face and leg with a baton by an Israeli soldier and the second photographer lost his hearing after a stun grenade exploded near his head, an AFP photographer, who witnessed the scene on Saturday, reported.
Since Israel decided to start building the apartheid wall in the occupied West Bank seven years ago, the Palestinians and foreign and Israeli activists have been carrying out weekly demonstrations and protests against the illegal measure, in which large areas of their land and properties were confiscated.
On Saturday, the Foreign Press Association protested what it calls the Israeli military's recent policy change. It criticized Israel for harassing, arresting, and attacking journalists, photographers, and cameramen covering anti-Israeli events, AFP reported.
The Israeli military says its forces only dispersed protesters.
